I just installed opera several days ago and I must say - I am pretty satisfied with it. It's the latest by the way - 5.11 - and my friend told me to try it out.
Speed - absolutely wonderfully fast. Yes -there's a splash like netscape - but it doesnt take forever to load (I am using a medieval computer) as netscape. You can view the time it loads a page - and you have a choice of viewing graphic or not - thus speeding up the page loading in the browser.
It is a bit like neoplanet - you can place skin on the page and change the buttons - therefore - personalise the browser to your own taste.
It even has a email browser like Netscape or Neoplanet - where you can write emails and all. It also allows you to connect to your friends in ICQ. But the best part I like about this opera - it makes surfing fun and simplify. The mouse is not about clicking buttons in opera. You can also move the mouse in certain direction to go to the next page or something... And of course - it makes experiece surfing with a mouse fun.
Honestly speaking - it's easy to use and much more better than IE or Netscape. It is also smaller in size when downloading the setup. I remember the customized IE took 17 MB and Netscape - well - rather large file. But Opera takes up only 10 MB and that's it. All you do is click and install.

Opera is absolutely a gold and a nice treasure to own - it is not as crazy and strange as IE or Netscape nor does it takes up a lot of the hard drive space.
I read the comment from xelavie commenting about the speed of Opera. It could be slow on his computer because of the banner and maybe the internet speed. It really depends though. It's faster always on my pc compared to IE for some reason :):) Either way :) thanks for trying Opera :)
