I have an Opel Corsa 1.4GL - Nov 2002 model. Right from day one, it has offered me bunches of problems. Be it Gear Box, be it Fuel needle, be it AC, be it Odometer.. all of Corsa’s equipment is problematic. And a letdown Cust Care Team & Policy. The Odometer (km reading) ran fast for a full 13-15 months ... After every 69km it showed 170km .. then after 269 it jumped to 370km and so on. Had to replace it. The Gear box gave way in 14 months. Linkage (a cheap plastic part in Opel Corsa) & Bush broke off one fine day and left me stranded. After lots of hackling and waiting for 5 days (though I am in Delhi-Gurgaon) did I manage to get the part from Gujarat ... and GM was forced to replace it free of cost. Imagine.. now again the Gears have eroded .. in just nine months. Probably the company offers a life of 9-10 months only. I have a Maruti Esteem & Zen - both aged 6 & 5 years resp.. never have I faced such problems. Same linkage problem ... the 2nd gear is too hard .. I am driving the car in 1-3-4-5 gears. No 2nd gear. The AC switch provided in the central console is of a cheap quality and breaks off itself. The assembly they say .. is just like that. I have got that replaced in the forst 15 months. The radiator or its pipelines start leaking at its own will - without any accident or anything. They say it can happen to any car. Mr GM Service Engineer ... let me tell you .. if things can go bad just like that .. there is a serious lacking somewhere .. either the purchase or quality check deptt at your plant is sleeping. And your customers are weeping. Nothing - just nothing in a Corsa is reliable. The AC, the Radiator, the Odometer, the Boot-Lid, the Gear Box and neither their Service Stations. To top it all .. they have a disappointing Cust Care policy. Their executives even in their corporate office are not really concerned. They say a customer can lie but their dealer cannot. I strongly recommend aspiring GM customers to think twice, thrice .. maybe 10 times before going for a GM product .. they are headed for a poor customer care .. so sad.
