I have travelled to Ooty many times by bike, car and bus. For the first time I went to the Ooty by train. I never thought it was going to be unforgettable moment.

I booked the first class train ticket from Ooty to mettupalaym, however there were no difference between first class and the other classes.

The train were started from Ooty at 2.15 pm.Gradually, Queen of the mountains started to impress me.The British people had said that the Ooty was the name of Queen of the hill that was very true.

After 5th minute I was spellbound by her beauty and got recovered in MettupalayamI Felt like I am in heaven because of the beauty of the mountain, meandering path, the highest mountain peak, long galley, caves, the drizzle brought high of ecstasy.

(208 curves, 16 tunnels, 250 bridges). The train moved very slowly(13 km speed) each of its beauty provoked me to write poems.Few stations were there. In every station, hot tea and tasty hot snacks are sold to enjoy the chill weather. Caves and monkeys entertain all the children. I felt like thanking the British government because they got this idea before independence It was not such a easy task to cut the rocks, laying the train tracks. Building bridges on the high mountains.

Many humans and animals would have sacrificed their life for laying the train tracks and building bridges. Those are sad stories. The train took 3 hours(7500 feet) to reach Mettupalayam. Those are unforgettable moment in my life.If you have chance to go Ooty, do not miss the train trip. I am sure those will be added in your list of sweet memories.in your life time.
