November 5th was my niece Suniti's birthday. As I reside at Bangalore, I wanted to surprise her by sending a birthday cake. I scanned thru google and came across a site ChennaiCakeShop.com. On their home page, it says that they are an ISO 9001:2008 Certified company.
Their home page is well created and they have various products viz. Cakes, Flowers, Chocolates, Fruits etc etc.
Since my niece loves strawberry flavour, I placed an order for 1 KG Strawberry Cake refer link for order placed(https://chennaicakeshop.com/products/1-Kg-Strawberry-Cake-Chennai.html) and made the payment online. Price: Rs. 900/-.
I placed the order on 3rd November. Order ID is #2571. Refer image/pic for order details. Yesterday I called up my sister to inquire whether the cake had been delivered. Out of curiosity I asked her to describe how it looks. She says it's plain vanilla with a bit of strawberry cream. Hearing this I was totally upset. I felt cheated!
What the site describes and what was delivered is totally different. When I inquired on the number mentioned on the site(9225512222), they say that they are based a Goa and have tied up with few bakers in Chennai.
Even their Facebook page, has lots of negative comments posted - refer image/pic.
The customer services say that they would speak to the recipient and send a complimentary one. Who wants a complimentary cake after the birthday is gone?
I am posting this on here, so that people are aware of how these online sites take gullible customers for a ride. This is the second time, I got cheated by making an online booking for a cake.Last time it was https://chennaiblossoms.com/
I request all the members, not to book anything online in either - https://chennaicakeshop.com or https://indiacakes.com Both these sites belong to the same person. Last evening, I get a mail from one Mr. Manit, from indiacakes.com, he says that there is a disclaimer clause. Of course, there is but a Strawberry cake cannot taste like Plain Vanilla!
