Please do not buy. Review on Onida - Black Beauty

I purchased Onida Black Beauty Microwave oven a couple of years back. I was a satisfied customer until 11th January 2015 when the MW oven stopped working. I raised a complaint in call center(complaint number 1501B106380548). No action for almost 10 days despite 3 follow-up calls. A technician from their Kukatpally center(Adonis Electronics) shows up  on 20th Jan and took oven to service center.

I got the delivery of the MW oven on 23rd Jan(a full 12 days after my original complaint) but when I tested it by boiling water, it started giving out fumes and burning smell within 15 seconds. The technician took it back.

The technician returned with microwave on 26th Jan saying it is now properly repaired - my wife checked the same by boiling water and some rasam. The technician says the door has to be closed forcefully to make the "spring inside work". We don't know what it means but it seems to work. We pay the technician Rs. 3800 for parts and service(almost 40% of purchase price). Next morning, we try to boil milk and we see that it has stopped working again.

I raise a ticket again and am told that this will be considered a new ticket and will take 48 hours to respond! Awesome.

I call the service center and a new guy is assigned to the job who then passes it on to someone else who asks us to be home at 4PM. As a working couple, we adjust our carefully synchronized schedule to be home at 4PM and no one shows up. I call the technician and he says that he can't work to our convenience and says he can come home the next morning at 10AM which of course is not feasible for my wife or I.

I call the call center again to report this and I speak with agents who use phrases like "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience sir" and "We will assign a technician as early as possible sir" etc., without any idea of what customer service is or what a promise means. Between the local service center and the call center, it is difficult to decide who is poorer in customer service. Both of them are giving tough competition to each other.

.and here we wait 18 days after the original complaint for a solution. Working couples will appreciate that microwave ovens are a necessity and not a luxury. My advice to all readers is PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BUY an ONIDA product EVER in your life. You will regret it.
