I bought this washing machine Onida 7.5 kg Fully Automatic on Flipkart sale with two year comprehensive warranty. The machine has developed a fault within one year of regular domestic usage for a family of three. While spinning, the machine makes noise as if rotating drum will fall off and it is colliding with the walls.
A technician visited and said that drum support has developed a crack and needs replacement. It is two months now and no one has visited to replace the part for complain no 1901I056380236. Calling customer care is of no help; on every contact they simply reply that either part is not available or to check with the service man who visited.
Onida is taking advantage of its iconic image of 1990s to sell home appliances. It seems they import while label Chinese parts just assemble products in India and sell them at huge profits with no after-sales and service commitment. They are running business like a marketing agency where everything is outsourced - products are sold on Flipkart, Amazon(not in retail shops) usually in flash sale, parts are bought for one time use from China, assembled by local factory, shipment is fulfilled by Amazon/Flipkart with no return policy, customer care is outsourced to Adonis only as a bureaucratic formality to be compliant.
This is true for other India manufacturers of 1990s such as BPL. It is better to stay away from their products as they are only interested in doing fraud business. These Indian companies have lost their competitiveness to Chinese and Korean peers. Please don''t trust such Indian brands as they are no longer trying to make a difference.
