We bought onida Thunder 29'' TV last month for Rs 15400 from Girias, Bangalore after all taxes.
TheĀ TV is a good buy and value for money.
I had compared atleast 10-15 showrooms to compare samsung/onida/sony by picture quality and sound.
Sony has lost its quality in the process in bringing down price. I donot feel sony is no longer sony anymore.
Onida picture quality is perfect and sound quality is good. You need to play around with treble to get crispyness which is not a default setting.
Surround and theater effects are great and we will enjoy by switching on bass. I have switched on bass only on very few occasions when watching a movie on original DVD.
The service person never approached for demo and I too was not really bothered about it.
One drawback in TV is: Sound volume jumps suddenly when moving across channel. This is problem across all TVs, except Philips, which has Artificial Intelligence to level such sound variations.
Quality of parts used is poor (switch or TV socket or DVD socket or remote). I am not sure of internal spares.
If any one asks for a good TV in 29'' segment, then go for onida thunder.
