Paulinho da Costa plays the percussion.
Timbaland, Missy Elliott, Xavier Harris, Demetrius Hart, Pierre Heath and Tann are the background singers.
THE SONGS IN ORDER:
MY REVIEW:
The first five songs are dance tracks and I enjoy them the best. I’m a big fan of Treach so I liked it when he played on this CD.
I also liked the title song 'One In A Million', (from 'The Summer of '98), because I think R & B is great.
I though 'I'm Thru With This Relationship' was a nice hymn.
'Never Comin' Back', (a song from 1996), was very sexy.
'A Girl Like You' is wonderful and it seems to blend into the next song, 'Naughty By Nature'.
'Back and Forth' (from her first album) and '4 Page Letter' has the same energy as 'One In A Million'.
I think that the beat is nice in ‘Southeast’ but the lyrics really don't make sense and I didn't enjoy it.
I love 'Heartbroken' and 'The One I Gave My Heart To' are slow sensitive call to the journey many of us have traveled when someone has broken our heart.
'If You're Girl Only Knew' has a strong beat that I wanted to get up and dance like a 'gypsy'.
I like the songs where Missy is featured: 'Beats 4 da Streets' and the 'Hot Like Fire'.
Slick Rick was on the tract of 'Got to Give It Up'. He always makes we smile when I hear him and I feel like phoning everyone I know and having a party!
'Ladies in da House' might have been put with the first few songs but after I thought about it I liked it where it was in the party hearty area.
Aaliyah remade & remixed 'Choosy Lover' it is the only song I don't like on this album.
AALIYAH, (Information on the disc):
'She is a trained Singer and can sing her songs in many vocal ranges. Aaliyah is no kid, though; she sings with a maturity that belies her age.'
SOME THOUGHTS:
This CD has a Timberland sound because they produced some of the tracks.
I love this album and highly recommend it to you.
