If there's one thing that can possibly hurt the reputation of this Farah Khan film... its too high expectations.

This is not another Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, or Devdas or Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.

This is one of those films that has so much of everything... horror, drama, comedy, tragedy, and tons of stars.... but doesn't hit you to the core - like you expect old 1990's Shahrukh Khan movies to do...

It is a fun movie though, and full of surprises! Om (Shahrukh Khan) is a self described 'Junior-Artist' who's in love with Shanti (Dippika) the popular 'Dreamy Girl' of 70s Bollywood. He somehow manages to get introduced to her, and assumes that he has a chance.

Shanti treats Om as a 'friend', and Om later finds out that she is actually married to Mukhesh Mehra (Arjun Rampal), the top producer of Bollywood cinema. They can't make their relationship public because that would ruin Mehra's career.

Mehra is the villain of the story, he's obsessed with wealth and his producing career, so much that he ends up doing something 'bad'. Thirtyyears later, a re-incarnated Om is actually Om Kapur now... famous Bollywood actor who lives extremely luxuriously. He keeps on getting visions of the old Om, and later states that he'll have his revenge on Mehra..... the plot of Om and his friends now begins.

The movie isn't that bad  It's one of those movies that has a little bit of everything, and I mean everything...

Horror: plenty of that with the cut window scenes, the filmstrip thill when Sandy is looking at Mukhesh Mehra, and lets not forget our favourite Kiron Kher

Mildly Sexual/Rude Comedy - with Shahrukh Khan's tiger scene, and Akhay Kumar's filmfare award scene

Smart Comedy: when they show Govinda and a few other lines from maine pyaar kiya, kuch kuch hota hai re-enactments

Overdramatic Comedy: Kiron Kher and NAAAAAAAAHIIII! as well as 'Rascala Mind it!'

Tragedy: Tons of it, especially in the climax of the movie

Romance: Again tons of it.

The highlight of the movie is definitely the songs.... all of which are amazing.

Darde Disco is a good dance song, but it's a 'Where's the Party Tonight' and 'Kaal Dhamaal' sort of song.... it's great if you want to dance, not so great if you just want to listen to music quality.

There are also two romance-lovey-dovey songs (Ajab Si, Mein Agar Kahoon), one sad-song (Jag Soona Soona Lage) and one 'drama' song which is Dastaan, which is played out very well as in the movie.

The songs are also very well played out visually, especially the one that everybody's waiting for, where Farah Khan gets 31 stars and manages to put it in one film.

So the movie does have everything: horror, tragedy, comedy, good songs... and tons and tons of stars.

Don't want Om Shanti Om if you're expecting to be shaken to the core. It's a fun sort of movie, that will make you laughing your head off at overdramatic stupid and sometimes sexual jokes, as well as Shahrukh Khan's usual humour.

He looks a little old though, and that's to be expected.... don't get me wrong, I'm a huge SRK fan, but I would rather stick to the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Mohabbatein days.... his new 'hot muscle-superman' look in Darde Disco is okay, but comparing it to Hrithik Roshan... :P

If there's one thing to appreciate about the movie, it's that it has everything... and it'll give you a satisfaction at the end of the film. It's worth watching in cinemas....  not because of SRK but because the movie is generally just... fun.
