Om Shanti Om Review

Ok so yesterday I finally got the chance to watch one of the most hyped and deseperately promoted film Om Shanti Om on pirated dvd. I wanted to go see it at the theatre but my bro wont be done renovating his house for another 2 weeks and my sis is also busy, so I just went to the store and got the dvd, and luckily for me none of the scenes were missing and I was extremely surprised how well the quality of the film was. Cauz usually pirated dvds suk and have horribly quality.

Anyways so I wanted to give my "mini" review on it, and sorry guys but its not gonna be anything like my Saawariya review, so it'll just be short and quick.

Story- Ok ever since the first promo came out of OSO, everyone knew what the story was. We have an Om(SRK) who is a junior artist who is madly in love with a Shanti(Deepika) who is a huge celeb, both end up dying at the end of the first half and then take rebirth and take reveneg from their killer. Add the ingredients of a 31 star song plus other multiple guest appearances plus the 70's/2007 look plus some cheesy jokes and spoofs and BOOM we have a film called Om Shanti Om.but suprisingly the final product wasnt as bad as I thought it could have been.

Now OSO is a brainless comedy, meaning that one shouldnt find much logic in the film, and its just suppose to be an entertaining film which can perfectly help u kill time when ur working at a store for 15 hrs and are stuck with a boring sis. And so eventho OSO is full of flaws, I am not really gonna mention any, because like I said OSO was suppose to be a senseless/brainless comedy.

Music Now when I had first heard the album, I only liked the Deewangi song.soon the Ajab Si and Main Agar Kahoon grew on me, and after watching the film I started like the Dhoom Tanna song. But out of all of them my most fav is definitly Main Agar Kahoon.Sonu Nigam at his best.

Performances

Kiron Kher- she was pretty good, lol she really cracked me up during the 2nd half when Arjun Rampal is about to enter the "burned" sets and she pops out from no where and acts like a crazy woman telling him not to go in there.lol she did freak me out but at the same time it was pretty funny.

Shreyas- I have always like this guy as an actor, and hez one of the few best that we have from the younger actors in bollywood.and in this movie like usual he did give a real good performance.

Arjun- Loved his 70's look.he looked real dashing and it really suited him. He gives a pretty good performance, and I liked him a little more in the 1st half compared to the 2nd half.

Deepika- As a newcomer I think she did pretty good job, eventho she was much much better as Shanti than as Sandy. Shez very pretty and the 70's look totally suited her. Overall she was just average, but does look like a promising actress for the future.

SRK- I didnt at all like him in the first half. sry to say but he looked very bad.the 70's look didnt at all suit him and idk for some reason his wrinkles were more obvious in the first half compared to the second half of the film. But on the contrast I really enjoyed watching him as OK in the 2nd half. I totallly loved the "cool dude" look and it was funny how he said "what the fish".and in the 2nd half especially towards the climax scene thankfully he didnt overact as much as I expected he would. And in that song that comes damn forgot the name of it, but the song that reveals the whole story, SRK's expressions for that song were nice. So overall he did a pretty good job and I did enjoy watching him, but I LOVED him as Kabir Khan in CDI.

Another thing I want to say is I actually liked the 2nd half more than the 1st half, and I know you guys might think I am an idiot or something or might laugh at me, but seriously I have no shame in admitting that I didnt find many of the jokes/spoofs in the 1st half funny at all, and thats because I havent seen too many films from the 70's era and nor have I ever seen any South Indian films, so I didnt get most of the jokes and thats why I actually like the 2nd half better.

My most fav scenes were:

-SRK enacting out the ek chutki sindoor scene

-Filmfare DEFINITLY! LOL Akki had me in splits when he was pulling the girlz hair.lol it was hillarious!

-The superman scene

-The audition scene

And a few more were also good
