Watch him walk, watch him talk, watch him dance, watch him fight, watch him smile, watch him cry and to top it all watch him bare his six pack, cleavage and his bum crack (all captured lovingly by the camera) in a movie called Om Shanti Om which proclaims to be a homage to the movies of yore but which comes across more as a homage to everything Sharukh.

That in a nutshell is what OSO is all about SRK, SRK, SRK and then some more SRK.

And of course SRK and his gang in keeping with their tradition (if one has watched him and his set host the awards show one would realize that their favourite theme is making fun of all filmy people including themselves) also find time to make fun of everything filmy including themselves. But unlike his recent awards shows, here SRK is a treat to watch and their jokes are less mean spirited and more humorous.

While SRK is the star of the show his co actors however are also very good. Debutante Deepika Padukone has been utilized very well by Farah. As Shanti Priya in the first half, Deepika, inspite of being a newcomer and barely 20, still effectively captures the enigmatic star power of yesteryear actresses. She is a sight to behold as Shanti Priya. She is so powerful as Shanti Priya that her later turn as Sandy (again very inteligently underplayed by her and her Director) barely registers. Arjun Rampal looks dashing and very very dangerous in his turn as a villian. This is his best performance till date. Only one problem - wish there was more of him in the movie since he was so delicious as the villain. Shreyas Talpade was excellent as the sidekick and Kiron Kher was the true blue Filmy mother channeling Nirupa Roy to Rakhi effectively.

Farah has crafted a better movie than Main hoon Na and the comedy was really really good. However for a movie purported to be a homage to the movies of early eighties, this movie sadly lacked peppy songs and good choreographed dance numbers. (after all weren't the late seventies early eighties famous for that). The songs especially the deepika number with sunil dutt etc and the final Karz type song were v.v.v. ordinary. Even the Deewanagee song with the 31 stars lost steam after the first two minutes. Also while the first half was exceedingly entertaining, the second half with its serious turn lost steam mid way.

Yet inspite of its flaws, I thoughrougly enjoyed the movie. Certain portions especially the filmfare awards sequence and the Tamil qick gun murugan sequence were laugh out loud hilarious. And the applause worthy end credits had me singing Om Sharukh Om.
