OLX is a very good concept. However I have tried twice to check if listings on OLX are genuine or not. Being buyer, I have lost about Rs. 22000 on listing which was fake and I never received product.
Understandably, OLX is not at all responsible for listing as they are providing free listings. Indian cyber law can come to rescue of buyers who have been cheated but our courts may not give verdict for long period.
If you intend to buy from any listing on OLX, keep following guidelines in mind:
1.Always buy from local listing.
2.Do not trust seller who says will COURIER stuff from local or other locations once payment is received.
3.Do not make payment unless you meet person who listed product personally and unless product is handed over to you.
4.Always take receipt of money and if possible get original purchase invoice from seller.
5.Get declaration signed by seller that goods he sold is legitimately owned by seller and is not stolen.
