Olivea Travels From Bangalore to Hyderabad
Monday April 30, 2012.
The much hyped internet connection did not work. Apparently, the internet access point was through an MTS CDMA 3G access point device that somehow failed to latch on to the DNS.
The second much hyped feature of Olivea, the restroom within the bus was unclean and had no water available.
The third most hyped feature was the entertainment options. This bus was going from Bangalore to Hyderabad and the movie options included English, Hindi and Tamil. No Kannada or Telugu!
Finally, the food was good. The service was decent and the attenders looked and played the part. They were dressed well, and could communicate in English.
For me the best feature of the bus was the legroom. No other bus offers this kind of a leg room. As a six footer, this is probably reason enough for me to travel Olivea again even though the other points were rendered just marketing gimmicks.
I would rate Olivea 2.5 out of 5 just for the legroom. *
I paid 1500 rupees for my ticket. It varies depending on when you book the ticket. You pay less if you book early.
Finally, my recommendation - If you are a tall guy and you want to actually travel comfortably and don't care much about frills such as internet, restrooms etc, you can give this a try.
