A little goes a long way....... Review on Olay Total Effects

Hey everyone, its been some time since I wrote this review and Im still using my olay cream. I just bought a new bottle last week. I got it from STAR CJ home shopping. Got the serum and the moisturiser along with the face wash. Some 100 something rupees less than the market price.

The STAR CJ offer was a good one and the products ordered are also good. I started using the serum recently and sometimes I use it alone with out cream in the morning. just that and then sunscreen from lotus ( the best)

The previous bottle still has a bit in it and I use that at night and the new one which has SPF for the day. It really lasted. I also got the olay under eye cream but was not faithful in using it so I wont comment bout that. anyways that was my update on olay. the price has gone up as well. 11th April 2010.

REVIEW Jan 2008.

After exactly 3 months of saving for the 599 Rs. price tag, I finally purchased 'MY' 50ml bottle of 'Olay Total Effects' from Hypercity in Malad, Mumbai.  I guess it was good that I waited as I got an Olay face wash worth some hundred something rupees free with it.

I got it on Friday and it’s Friday again, that means one week has passed and there’s already a stark difference in the texture of my skin.  It is especially noticeable in the area around my eyes. The skin tone around my mouth was also uneven and it already looks a lot better.  Overall my skin already looks a radiant and healthy.

Olay Total Effects is a trusted product name that actually works.   I have never used a cosmetic product that comes in a similar container so its quite interesting. It’s a little dispenser with a pump-action top.  The pump action of this container enables you to administer the exact amount of cream necessary for your needs, thus eliminating waste - which at this price it needs to do!

I think you only need to use as much as a pea, rather a cooked pea to cover the entire face and if you feel its not enough and you have to scrub your face to make sure it reaches all the nooks and corners then take a bit more!  Dab it in dots all over and then smoothen it out all over. Cleanse your face before applying the product.

I noticed that the cream feels like one has applied foundation to the face.  It is thick and white (not watery like other creams) with a velvety texture and as you apply it to the skin, it is easily absorbed leaving no greasiness I think it’s going to be good to use as a base so that you can apply your powder over it.  It has a lovely peachy smell too.

This cream is going to be the best thing to apply during winter as well.  Combine it with the Olay face wash as well its just wonderful.  After applying Olay Total Effects, apply some moisturiser to seal in the moisture.  if you have oily skin then I would advise you to put the cream at night  before going to bed to supplement your skin's renewal process. In the morning wash it off with a face wash meant for oily skin not the creamy Olay face wash so as to take out all the residue of the previous night.

One more thing to note is that this product is ideal for day use because it has SPF so if u absolutely must have sunscreen on your face and want to use Olay during the day then go it or else opt for Olay with out SPF which thankfully is available as it SPF makes the skin real oily.

PRICE...............well it is Rs. 599 for the 50g and  299 for 20g.  Rather than spending 100 rs every month experimenting with new creams it is better to invest your money in Olay and use it for the next 3 months.  I have full faith that it will last me for at least 3 months.

You know as women we often take our selves for granted.  Everyone from A to Z has a piece of us.  Take care of yourself, your eating habits, skin, hair, nails and see how much better you will feel. Do this for yourself and not for others. Often those we love the most take us for granted and it's easy to wallow in self-pity.  Let no one notice it does not matter.  If you feel good about yourself you don’t need the approval of anyone else. Save up every month for yourself. Let it be your money no HISAAB and no KITAAB.  Walk a little here and there instead of using autos, don’t gorge on fried snacks and chocolates, ask yourself before you spend on unwanted things, do u really need it?  

10 Rs here and there can make a lot of money per month.
