I had availed an Ola ride on 12th April. The amount for the ride was Rs 580. The driver requested me to pay him in cash since he wanted to refuel his car and accordingly I paid him Rs 600(Ola tells us to tip the drivers so I paid him extra 20 rupees). Since during Covid situation, I am not stepping out of the house much I did not notice that Ola had charged me Rs 500 on my Ola Postpaid although I had already paid the driver for that trip. Now they are constantly pestering me, coercing me to clear the 500 rupees due in Ola postpaid. I asked them to check with the driver- Pavan Kumar CR that I had paid him in cash, which they refused to do. I am sure the driver would have updated the information that he had been paid the entire amount in cash. Still these people called me up and said that let us reach at a mid point and you pay alteast some amount. Why should I pay again for the ride, how is this even fair? The only word that comes to my mind is a big SCAM. If this same mistake happens to 1000 other people and they convince people to pay again for a ride for which they had already paid, then Ola ends up making a lot of money through this method. Good business strategy but what about business ethics. Asking a rider to pay twice for a ride- how fair is that?
