This Saturday,26-03-2016, we had to reach airport by 5:30pm. BMTC Vayu Vajra is always our preference as the service is very good,but this time somehow we missed the service and decided to book an Ola cab instead. It was around 3 when the process of booking initiated. The app took almost 15 minutes to locate the area and was running extremely slow. After force stopping it several times and retrying,my patience was wearing off slowly. Finally the booking was done around 3:30pm. I got a confirmation message about the vehicle number and driver details. I was relaxed that the cab will arrive by 3:31,as mentioned. But while we were preparing to go out,I received a call from the driver. He inquired about the pick up and drop point,then said, "Dusra koi aata".which was not clear to me. What does he mean? Will he arrange for another cab,or not willing to come at all? When I called him back,the driver didn't take my call. We waited till 3 45,the tracking option was showing that the car is waiting! I had mentioned the pick up point clearly,so we stood there looking for the approaching vehicle.But there was no sign of any Ola cab in our locality. Tried to call the driver again,it kept ringing but nobody picked up the phone. As I was planning to contact the call center of Ola,I got a message at 3:47pm. "Sorry,we had to cancel your booking since the driver waited and was unable to contact you!" I felt very angry and cheated,as the entire time I had my mobile with me,had a full network and got no calls at all!How can they cheat anybody at the last moment? But we didn't have the time for second thought also. The next bus for airport already left from the terminus. How we chased it and was able to catch the flight at last moment,is another story. But the whole incident infuriated us like anything. Don't they have any ethics at all? How can they cancel the booking without any prior confirmation at the last moment? And how can that cunning driver fool the tracking system as if he's really waiting at the pick up point? The tracker showed no vehicle near the place,but message showed that the car has come.which kind of tracking system is that?If the driver really didn't want this trip,why didn't he inform us clearly and ask the office to arrange for another vehicle,instead of wasting our time and making us wait on the road?Or at least informing us,showing a little bit of backbone,so that we can cancel the booking or ask for another vehicle? No cab company has the right to deceive a passenger at the last moment with something important like catching a flight or train.it's really disappointing and shameful. My previous experience with Ola was not good either,but from now onward I will prefer local auto or bus rather than Ola.
