I am here in Kolkata and often use this cab service from Ola. In kolkata there are a lot of local taxis and they charges almost twice than what ola cab charges. Local taxis always denied to go somewhere if there are rush or heavy traffic on roads. Ola cabs are too good in this way. I would like to mention some points here after having experience:
Its quite easy to book cab through ola cab app, You have to turn on your mobile GPS that shows your location and cab around you showing expected time to reach to you. You have to select your cab option, You can select your pick up location manually, You can see expected amount of charges by selecting drop location. Once your booking is confirmed, you will get Driver's name Vehicle number & Driver's mobile number via sms. Then you can contact him. so its easy to use book any cab on ola.
Driver's behaviour I found quite respective on almost every time.
Once you are at cab, You can enter drop location and through GPS you can track ride and expected time to reach your destination.
There are a variety of cabs available in kolkata, Mini Cab, Micro cab, Share cab etc. Micro cab is most cheapest.
Charges are quite cheap, as I said earlier it is cheaper than local taxis here in kolkata.
Transportation quality is great as they have clean cabs, Air conditioned and some cabs have wifi for riders.
There are higher surcharges as per demand of cabs, I find it mostly at the time of morning and evening, When people use cabs most for going office or coming back home. You will get notified about any surcharges at the time of booking.
If you face any issues regarding cabs, you can call their customer care executive. Customer care executives are so proactive and they solves any issue almost instantly related to cab.
you can pay via cash or ola money pre-loaded.
