I have been a loyal Oil of Olay user for almost 8 years, because my favourite Nivea lotion is not available in USA. I used the Oil-Free beauty fluid for a while. My skin is quite oily, and this might sound strange, but my skin does not get pimples as long as I moisturise. After I got married, my husband and I were sharing personal care products such as lotions, soap, and shampoo/conditioner. He also has oily skin, but uses moisturiser. He is from India, and his skin is MUCH darker than mine. I have very fair skin. We were both using the regular Oil of Olay moisturiser, and it worked fine but he, like many people with dark skin, has some ashiness.
One day, we were picking up a bottle of our usual moisturiser, and I noticed the Protective Renewal Lotion. It is ALSO Oil-free, but it contains Beta-hydroxys which aid in smoothing and making skin tones more even, PLUS it has SPF 15. I could not believe our luck! The SPF is good for protecting my skin from the sun, and the Beta-Hydroxy was a benefit for my husband to reduce the ashiness. That was 2 years ago, and we have not used another moisturiser since then. After about 7 days of use, my husband's ashiness was reduced at least 50%, and neither of us had any pimples. I do think the Beta-hydroxy complex also has made my skin much softer. It has a smoothness to it that was not as prominent before. Plus, a small amount gives a lot of coverage, so you are getting your money's worth. As with the other Olay formula we had been using, the lotion soaked right into my skin, and I do not feel a hint of greasiness that I do with some lotions. I hate it when a moisturiser just sits on top of the skin. I recommend this for people with oily skin that need a good daytime moisturiser.
