I have seen all of jafar panahi movies(all8) but I would recommend offside if you want to see only one movie from this great director.
The movie was banned in iran because his previous movie crimson gold in which the Iranian authorities want to have two cuts due to the extreme violence depicted was refused by jafar. The movie was distributed by sony pictures usa after it won the silver bear grand jury prize at the berlin film festival. Since it is banned in iran( In fact all of the movies except his first movie white balloon is banned in iran) the movie could not be submitted for oscar for best foreign language film.
The movie revolves around few girls trying to disguised like boys in order to see a football match in the stadium and they are not allowed as it is against the iranian govt. The movie is inspired buy panahi's own daughter while trying to enter a stadium face similar consequences. To know more watch the full movie.
