Story:

A few days back my eyes fell on a book titled “Of course I love you… Till I find someone better” by Durjoy Dutta and Maanvi Ahuja. The titled somehow appealed to me. I picked up and as a ritual(I always do this when I come across any book on the face of the world, and its not only me but many people do this) After a very long time I came across an Indian dicklit which was very far from the usual set ups.

For instance, the story is set up in DCE and DU and not IIT or IIM. Not that I have a problem with either IIT or IIM, it’s just that I was tired of reading about them. And yes, also that I belong to DU, I was a bit biased towards it(and why not, some of my best years are spent here!) I bought the book on an impulse, though I continuously told myself That I know what will be the book all about- an ex-brilliant student, underwent a change, met girls, fell in love, realised the hormonal urges in their body, up their scores, landed up in serious problems, etc…

The book turned out to somewhat like that though the protagonist – Debashish, is a student of DCE who is more interested in looking under a girl’s skirt than going under a car(he is pursuing mechanical engineering) but doesn’t smoke or drink(thankfully!), falls in love with Avantika, a brilliant student of SRCC, and a reformed drug-addict(she claims that Sri Guru helped her!) The book, surprisingly kept me hooked.

Partly because it was based in familiar terrain, but to some extent because it didn’t go on about how pathetic the whole educational system is, etc. the people who recognised their own mistake and ended up feeling content with whatever they were doing. Surprisingly, it inspired me to start a blog(even though it didn’t boast about the importance of a blog) So, I dedicate this article to the book which inspired me and encouraged me to maintain a blog. And I will recommend the book to everyone who has seen collegt life.
