My experience began in the year 2001 where the excitement of going to a new school thrilled me as I
heard my school was fully air conditioned and my ride to school is also air condition with a television. It
was a flamboyant and a luxurious journey for me as I was one among the first students to enjoy all these
comforts in Hyderabad. The Oakridge journey was one of the most influential parts of my life; 2001 –
2010 are the most beautiful years of my life. Our school is truly about learning the treasure within,
Oakridge has provided so many platforms for me to explore, participate and achieve which molded my
personality to who I am now. The beauty of the school was the balance between education and extra-
curricular activities. Unlike other schools Oakridge always had an edge over the others when it came to
focus on education and extra-curricular activities. The school always encouraged students to participate
in as many activities as possible. Oakridge was all about providing exposure to students which gave us a
lot of confidence to stand as an individual in the community.
School is a meeting place of students and teachers and from them we learned how to adjust with the
society at latter part of our life. The student - teacher relationship was the best apart of my journey. We
never saw our teachers like tutors; we had a close bond with all ours teachers irrespective of which class
they thought. They were our guardians at school who always encouraged us. The teachers were more of
facilitators and helped us solve our own problems rather than spoon feeding the solutions to us, which
made life a lot easier for us after we graduated from school and pursued our goals. We took part in
many games and sports, drama, essay competition, song and debate competitions etc. It is in school that
we enjoyed and took advantage of the affection of our teachers.
I feel that school life is very important part of one's life, because it provides opportunity for study and
discipline. Besides these, our school life is a preparatory stage for entering public life and foundation for
our future. Oakridge played an important role in widening the outlook of us. Qualities such as
perseverance, sincerity, truthfulness, tolerance, discipline and obedience were installed into us at all
times. In school, all the students were taught to be in a spirit of togetherness which makes my
experience a beautiful one.
School is where you meet the best people of your life and with whom you will have the most
unforgettable memories. Oakridge has helped me make my family bigger. This school life has helped me
in preparing for a better and fuller life. It strengthened my character and provided avenues that directed
me towards the right path. I as an Oakridger take a lot of pleasure and pride in all that my school life has
provided for me and what it stands for.
