As one of the few Oakridge Founder Parents still in school, today, it gives us great pleasure to state that we have thoroughly enjoyed our journey of growth along with the school for the last 16 years.
Our son, Karthik Arcot, joined the school in its year of inception, 2001, in Grade II. The present Vice Principal, Mrs. Hema Chennupati, was his then English teacher, and Mrs. Bhanusri Chillara, now the Deputy Coordinator, Parent Relations, OIS-Newton Campus, his Class Teacher in Grade II. Since then he grew up stronger, wiser, and thoroughly enjoyed himself with studies, foreign trips, extra-curricular activities, and by the time he took up the IGCSE curriculum in Grade IX, he developed studying and research skills which helped further during his IBDP which he successfully completed in 2012. During the IBDP in Grade XI, he conducted the MOCK BUDGET session, as President of the Organising Committee, which was a very successful FIRST TIME for him as well as the school, and earned a lot of appreciation and accolades for conducting the event. During his study at OIS, Newton Campus, he earned the distinction of having 100% attendance for 6 years in a row, continuously from Grade IV to Grade X.
After completing his IBDP in Grade XII, he joined James Cook University, in Singapore and studied for his Bachelor of Business, with International Business as his Major. He graduated and came out with flying colours in October 2014, and even before his Graduation Ceremony was completed, he was called for a series of interviews at the Deloitte US-India offices, Hyderabad, selected from about 600 candidates who appeared with him, appointed and currently working, as a Tax Consultant for the Belgian Tax Centre at Hyderabad.
Our younger daughter, Kajol Arcot, joined OIS-Newton Campus in 2008, in Grade IV. She also enjoyed her earlier years of study, in the school, with limited or no homework or exams and used to judiciously complete her day-to-day worksheets with joy. The methodology, concepts of teaching the different syllabi, used by the school management, is totally different and innovative and helps the child to grasp and understand the topic instantly. Like her brother, she too followed in his footsteps and had 100% attendance for 7 years from Grade V to Grade XI. She is now in IBDP II(Grade 12) and is planning to study Business and Economics as her Majors in future.
As parents closely associated with the school over the years, we have seen students from different backgrounds, nationalities, cultures, levels of intelligence joining the school, and each and every student has been supported very well and nurtured accordingly and brought to the levels required for that standard.
We certainly would miss being with the school after my daughter completes her studies in 2017!
