I passed out Oakridge International school in the year 2009 and I have such cherished memories that I would like to share.
The learning experiences in the school has made me a mature individual that I can relate to so much in my daily life today that I was taught back then in school. The environment in school was so open that it gave us immense freedom of thoughts and spread our wings and make us fly in the right direction. We had an open and interactive session in school that led to participation by every student. The teachers were very well trained and made even the most boring subject interesting and easy to grasp. We could interact with the vice principal and principal as well, at any point of time for feedback.
I was the Vice President of the Student Led Council which was started to put the points and views of the students across to the management. This experience that I had gave me so much exposure and improved my communication and leadership skills which helps me so much with what I am doing today. We were the first to start the Ballet voting system to elect our own representatives from each class.
The extra curricular activities were a part of the curriculum on a daily basis like sports, painting and music. We were allowed to use white boards and laptops for presentations and team work. We had nutritionists, dietitians and doctors to help at all times.
One person whom I would like to thank for shaping up my decision career wise was Mohseena maam who made me decide very early on as to what I wanted to do. And I was taking internships since grade 11 which gave me a first hand experience in learning about fashion.Today I am a successful Fashion Designer and when I look back, all I can think of is how I was encouraged to do my best in school, learn new things and gain experiences that has made me what I am today.
