Courageous Movie With A Bold Theme. Review on OMG - Oh My God

Kanji(Paresh Rawal) an atheist, joins his wife(Lubna Salim) to holy shrine where he buys religious deities referring as pot-bellied, body builder and lady sitting on the tiger and deals for bonus idols. While selling he conjures up stories dealing with people's faith. On ocassion of Govinda he addresses gathering to feed Lord Krishna on behalf of Siddeshwar Maharaj. Rumours fast spreads resulting in devotees feeding lord krishna with milk & butter. Siddeshwar curses Kanji for misleading masses committing a sin. An earthquake follows resulting in Sole destruction of Kanji's Shop. He cannot sell shop land as it supposed to be inauspicious due to destruction of idols .

Kanji's insurance claim is also denied under non-acceptable clause deemed as'Act of God'. Eventually he intends to sue god for his act. Denied by others, Advocate Hanif Qureshi(Om Puri) files his legal notice to preachers. On Insurance Co's behalf, Mahesh Manjrekar(Lawyer Sardesai) is the defence lawyer. On God's behalf, Leeladhar Maharaj(Mithun Chakraborty), Gopi Maiyya(Poonam Jhawer) & Siddeshwar has to defend to pay Kanji from their collection. On court's acceptance of such case, more'Act of God' cases accumulate.

Krishna avatar(Akshay Kumar) buys kanji's house and guides him to help himself to fight his legal case. Krishna avatar encourages Kanji to expose defamers in media. Insurance companies insists lawyer Mahesh Manjrekar to prove that god exists. The cases touches on commercial trade of visit to shrine, blessing, salvation in God's name with I.T. benefits and is also immune to recession.

Brilliant Lines & Scenes in the movie from different characters:-

• A devotee is charges the way visitors are charged for displayed statues in museum.

• Mafia scares with a gun while faith healers scare us in the name of the Lord

• Doing Charity to legalize transaction for funds raised by organized faith commercialization is like a tobacco supplier building a cancer hospital.

• You remember 320 idols, 142 priests.but you do not know how many beggars sit outside your temple?

• You kill two religious defamers, another two hundred will rise.

• l created humans . and humans started religion, caste. and it's been going on for 1000 years now.because they need it.

• lf you take away their religion, they will make'you' their religion.

• l kept saying, don't turn religion into business. and .you turned me into an idol and started one.

• I shall see to it that all Shops raised in the name of lord are shut down.

• Every car that has an accident, always have an idol/image of a Lord kept inside.

• A bus headed to holy shrine filled with devotees having complete faith, singing religious discourses falls in the ravine? This accidents implies human mistakes & therein lies responsibility.

Paresh Rawal plays atheist with an unapologetic bang. One of His Best Performance of All Times and Perhaps'Best Performance Of The Year' alongside Irrfan Khan's Paan Singh Tomar. Mithun Chakraborty lends much more to the character he etches. KUDOS TO PARESH RAWAL, UMESH SHUKLA, AKSHAY KUMAR(ACTOR, WRITER, DIRECTOR, PRODUCER) to come together and depict it all through a movie with such a bold theme.

The movie conveys that faith cannot be dealt in business upon fear which one can or cannot escape. Although India is not a fundamentalist country, but people are religious. Thanks to secular constitution wherein these kind of movies can be made & released.
