Yes - that's right, WinAmp 2 + WinAmp 3=WinAmp 5. (Incase if you were wondering what ever happened to WinAmp 4.) Nullsoft has great updated features from WinAmp 3.The most important of all,the swiftness of loading!WinAmp 3 was slow as a snail,and that contributed very much to the reduction in WinAmps share in MP3 player's used world over.
Winamp 5 has got
• Snazzy new look!
• Groovy new features!
• Most things actually work!
• Hi quality ripping and burning with Winamp pro.(paid version)
This is the Nullsoft's opinion.
Most of these are true.The new look is simply sizzling.There is a fully featured media library(better than WMP?).The integrated internet and radio are expected to offer WMP a competition.You can rip your files into mp3 format using winamp if you are using the paid version also you can burn it into a CD!With the exciting colours of Nullsoft's best visualisations, you would want to put a song with plenty of bass and start spewing up blood!
Winamp 5 loads much faster than 3,and is quite up to expectation.There are loads of plugins in-built,so you wont have to add new pluggins now and then.The Library seems promising.
But everything is not so positive.
I once loved winamp for its lightness.Yes,winamp once was very light,had keys only for usefull things.Though there were modern skins,I continued with the classic,because iI felt that was quite okay,it suited my needs.
Winamp is no more that light.It seems NullSoft wants to make a WinAmp vs WMP competition for media players.Sometimes I feel the new winamp is a bit bloated,became a bit shoddy...etc.Yes,winamp has lost its lightness.
But that is just my opinion.I would love to hear your comments and opinions.
