Nothing Lasts Forever :A story of three doctors, Dr. Paige Taylor, Dr. Kate Hunter and Dr. Honey Taft.

When they came to Embarcadero County Hospital, they were unknown to each other. They became good friends. They stayed in three bedroom apartment.

San Francisco is one of the beautiful cities in the world. (It has been, it is and it will remain) Jason an architect lives in the city. His grandfather did lots of landscaping in the city. Most of the work done by his grandfather was destroyed during the earthquake of 1906. Jason loves the city and one time he worked as guide.

He took Dr. Paige to Fisherman wharf. This is the best place to start sight seeing of San Francisco. Fisherman wharf is always busy. Lots of people and lots of food available. You can have freshly baked sourdough bread with a cup of clam chowder soup. Lots of cooked crab and other food available. You can see the

view of whole city from Coit Tower. Ride on the cable car which was built in 1873.

_Dr. Kate Hunter: She is black and beautiful lady. She is dream girl of every male

doctor. She was repeatedly raped by her step father during her childhood. He mother did not believe her. She ran away from home to live with her aunt in Minneapolis. Her aunt encourage her to study and brought her to be a doctor.

Her younger brother was not educated. He used her sister for the money. She had promised herself that she will not allow any man to come near her. But the fate had something else for her. She fell into the trap a Casanova Dr. Mallory.

he won $10,000 bet from other male doctor for having sex. She admitted to all the male doctors. Dr. Mallory promised her to marry her. In the meantime Dr. Mallory was engaging himself with another rich lady Ms. Lauren. Dr. Kate was pregnant. He had no intention of marrying her. He was dreaming about marrying

the rich Ms Lauren. He asked Dr. Kate to abort the baby. Dr. Kate refused to do so. One night Dr. Mallory lured her for a dinner, brought her to her apartment. Both of them had sex. He mixed in her drink some poisonous medicine and left her to die. Dr. Honey came home and found her in the bathroom in the pool of blood.

Reported to the Police. Rang Dr. Paige to come home pronto. Police considered this case, a case of abortion and closed the case. Dr. Paige was not convinced. She and Dr. Honey did some investigation and brought Dr. Mallory closer to the justice. The San Francisco Chronicle read the headline

Dr. Honey Taft: She was born in the family of Achievers. She was shy and ugly duckling of the family. She went to a high school party, sat in the corner without any friend. Football player had problems with his girl friend. His girl friend left him.

He took Honey Taft in confidence. he took her to his car and had sex with her. She enjoyed it. This incidence open the door for her success. She was very popular among the boys and the teachers. She became first class student from average student. Math teacher was very happy with her. She learned how to

get the things done being friendly with the male people. In the medical college she received excellent reference from the dean of the Medical college.

Now there was not question of being unsuccessful. In the hospital any doctor who was against her, she please that doctor. Administrator of the hospital was very please with her. Doctors stopped complaining about her. She treated a patient in the hospital. She fell in love with him and married him.

Dr. Paige Taylor: She is real heroine of this book. She was a hardworking intelligent doctor. She watched her father, dedicated and working hard. Her mother did not stay with the family. Her father was a doctor with WHO. He traveled to third war countries. She learned little bit Hindi when she was in India. She admired

Alfred when she was in South africa. The were inseparable kids. He mind was like a sponge, absorbing everything. They both promised to each other to marry when they grow up. At the age of sixteen the life long emotional intimacy with Alfred exploded into a new dimensions. It was scary night and her father was away. She went to Alfred's bed in the middle of night and she gave in. At the age of seventeen her father sent her to Chicago to live with his brother. As soon as she reached to her uncle, she heard the news that her father is killed.

He dreams to marry Alfred were shattered, when Alfred gave her visit with his wife Karen. Dr. Paige was under the impression that she is not liked by Dr. Barker. Dr. Barker was well known surgeon. He asked for her to work with him. Dr. Barker was too hard on her. He never appreciated her hard work. Dr. Paige read him wrong.

That was his style. He wanted Dr. Paige to be perfect surgeon. A surgeon without any mistakes. One night, in the middle of night, Dr. Paige was asked to come to the hospital. Her patient wanted to see her. Her patient Mr. John Cronin, was dying of cancer. He was suffering badly. He begged and convinced Dr. Paige

to finish his life. She sucked into it and saved John Cronin from the miseries of his life. Mr. John Cronin left one million dollars in his will for Dr. Paige.

She was arrested for the murder of a patient for money. Which was not true. In the trial all the evidence were against her. Prosecution attorney brought in every witness who were against her. Her attorney was not able to find any witness in her favor. But in life, sooner or later good things happens to good people. Patience is a virtue. Dr. Barker was under treatment. His doctor was not allowing him to witness stand. Finally, Dr. Barker managed to come to trial on the very last day.

Prosecution attorney was happy to see him. Prosecution attorney was sure that Dr. Barker will talk against Dr. Paige and she will be behind the bars. Dr. Paige was also sure that her fate is decided and she is in the dead water.

Climax of the story is that Dr. Barker said, some people are born to be doctors and Dr. Paige is one of those rare ones.

Judge Young, declared the case miss trial, set her free. Mr Jason and Dr. Paige were married next day and Dr. Barker was their best man.

This is an excellent thriller every doctor and resident should read this story.
