Northern Tadka is one of the relatively better restaurants of Dahisar. They serve a decent fare of Punjabi and Mughlai cuisine.
The ambience is similar to other Northern Tadka restaurants. Clean, well maintained and most importantly has a warm and friendly staff. The food is scrumptious. I particularly enjoy their Punjabi Chicken Masala and Dum Biryani. The chicken platter comprises of kebabs and chicken prepared in various other styles, it is a must try.
Vegetarians fear not. Northern tadka’s trademark is its paneer dishes. Their paneer literally melts in the mouth. A must try is paneer tikka masala and paneer chilly. Even their dal tadka and dal khichdi are finger licking good.
The food is served in copper plates and cute little kulads. The décor is pretty simple but they have added sparkly parandis . Hand painted portraits adorn the walls. They transport you to some remote village of Punjab.
On weekends and special occasions, they have a special performance. A bunch of dancers dressed in authentic Punjabi attire accompanied my ‘dholwalas’ perform on folk songs. They truly brighten the atmosphere. Some sporting customers also jump the bandwagon. Other shy girls and boys are spontaneously pulled from their seats and asked to join. It is such a wonderful experience!
Overall, I am satisfied with their service and quality of food served. My only suggestion is; it’s been a long time now, a new menu is in order. Also they NEED to add some more desserts in their menu.
