I have been a fan of E series and specially E 61, since almost 10 months I have used it..
And NOW .. I guess I would never buy something like this again.
Poor feedback systems, poor service, inablity of service centers to give proper estimates, non-avaiablity of expert engineers is what will push me back from buying nokia phones in future.
When I bought it for Rs. 18000.00, I thought it to be a good long term investment and used ti very well for work purpose. It is a good product, with well thought of features.
BUT, once the problems started comign in - Nokia care could nto resolve the problems even aftet multiple visits, and hours of waiting everytime.
Simple problem - some of the keys were not working.
Poor Service at Nokia Care>First they gave me an estimate of a heavy amount and asked to leave the phone. ( Three hours of waiting at the service center to just leave it ) - People who use E61 and similar phones - can they afford such long waits? Is this 'nokia care'?
Fair enough . I paid an advance too, for repairs. On the due time, when I went.. nothing.... they said they need more time so asked me to come another day,
Same again .. They said they will need another 20 days and the estimate they had given me had bloated to a much bigger amount. I asked them to pack the phone back and give it to me, which they initially hesitated and then made me wait for an hour or so..
So after these multiple visits I got the phone back in much worse condition, with NO keys working at all now.
Read the fine print in Warranty - lot of things may not be covered and are EXPENSIVE
And inspite of being in warranty period, the problem is not covered under warranty ( Fine Print in nokia warranty ruins it all ) .
A nokia fan turning to other brands now
I guess I have been a ardent fan of nokia since almost 12 years, used all sorts of nokia phones, but looking at the fallign quality fo nokai phones, unservicability , bad condition of nokia care centes - Guess this all would stop me from usign nokia phone now onwards.
E61 was an Expensive mistake
It is just getting too expensive and meaninglessly troublesome to keep nokia phones now a days.. I am now comparing features of other brands with nokia ( for the first time in all these years ) and finding that they offer similar features at much lower prices.
Guess - My faith in nokia is gone now. and E61 provied to be a big disaster for me, due to really bad service issues.
