I had bought Nokia E 61i sometime in March this year.After some time the audio of the phone became very low.I started using the wire so that I can hear the voice clearly.After about a month that wire also stopped working.I went to the dealer and I was told that I should go to the Nokia care center.This thing I fail to understand in India, why is a consumer made to run around.I bought the phone from the shop, I paid him the money why should I go to the manufacturers customer care.I remember once in New York I bought a dress from Macys. When I came to India , for some reason my wife didn’t like the dress so on my next trip after four months I went to Macys to return the dress.In the mean time the season changed but they still took it back.No questions asked.


So coming back to my Nokia problem I visited the Nokia care in Lajpat Nagar.There was a long queue, after waiting for about one hour when my turn came , they improved the audio little bit but not to my satisfaction.They said leave the phone there and it may take few days, which I could not do.I asked them to replace my wire they said its duplicate. I got the wire in the original pack and it had Nokia written on it.When I told the dealing person ok give me in writing that this wire is not the original one and you cannot replace it, then he submitted the wire and gave me a receipt.He said this wire will go to head office and will take 25 days to replace. I waited for 25 days and finally I got the wire replaced .


I had been using Nokia phones for a long time now and this is the first time I have faced the problem with hand set.So the final outcome is you have to be lucky and if your hand set has some manufacturing defect you have only two choices, leave the handset with Nokia care for 25 days or live with it as I am still living with low audio.Very very disappointed with Nokia how they have set up the customer care centers
