I recently happen to lay my hands on a Nokia N96. Nope it wasnt Mine. (I wish) One of my old pals got one. Whatever said and done about the price. It is a rocking phone n there is no two thoughts about it...

First thing Nokia should do something about how their handsets are looking.. they are now all looking like brothers and sisters to me.. N96 looks exactly the same as N81 justa lil bit more heavier (after all it got more space ..Heheheh)

The first thing that came to my mind wen I took it is that its a sturdy phone. Throw it from a two storey building besides a few scratches it will be as alive as ever. This dude was so crazy to actually do that bu wat teh hell, he managed to pass a verdict and still keep his handset intact... good going dude..  .Next thing I noticed was the new user interface that have been introduced with Nokia S60 3rd edition phones. Two words for it - impressive and useful with so many options to choose from, like the timed profile option - set a time wen u want the profile to change and it will do so automatically (Solution to the most common problem - forgetting to change the profile after a meeting), or the option of multitasking where you can work on multiple applications all together.

As my habit goes, the first folder I visit is the gallery. And I'm so sure one look into that and you will be glued on for 2 days. Its got the most happening numbers - 100 english and 100 Hindi songs and each one of them equally rocking. and The sound qulaity is also really great, asolutely clear. The video section - its got whole OSO preloaded in it and 50 music videos and with its backstand it becomes an experience such that you can easily forget your TV. And if you ever happen to finish up the content, you can download more very easily and with its 24GB space capacity, having it all certainly isnt a problem. Plus you can see all your mobile content on your TV Screen also with the TV out cable that comes along with the pack. N96 also supports Mobile TV, though this is not a new feature but its cool to watch TV on mobile, even if its Doordarshan (get back my chilhood memories :-)) but suggest to experience it wen an imp. match is on and u got to be in office working, you will end up having the last laugh... Well I can go on and on about this but since I have less time i'll move on to the camera.

Well the word 5MP camera says it all. The pic quality is awesome. Though I believe that the colours of the pic are not so absolute but will do as its hardly noticable but with rumours of 8 MP camera from Nokia, this will be a passse.

What impressed me the most was all the preloaded utility based applications in the phone. It seems Nokia has answers to every situation .

  • Forget your phone home, you got access all your content, keep track of your call logs, take a back up data, remotley deletee ur data, track your sim, spy on your gf(click pics from miles away) - Use Wavesecure

  • Forget your laptop home - no worries, use mobiola screen to give an imp. presentation. Store your PPT in your mobile and attch it to the projector and Voila u r all ready for the big presentation and in the most high tech and impressive way

  • Forgetting a meaning of a word - Use oxford Dictionary

  • Send a message in your regional language - Use Indi SMS.

Well if all this is still not enough, N96 got more Phew...

  • It also has 3 countries and 8 Indian cities map. Voice Guided navigation.

  • Ngage with preloaded a free actiavtin code for Asphalt.

  • Accelerometer (have u played marble maze on it, a must do)

  • Excellent web Browsing experience.

Well I think I have mostly coverd about everything... but if I seem to have missed out on anything please add on.

I love the phone. I would rate it a 4/5. its a great phone to have with so much fille in it like features, applications and so much content, but the space never seem to finish.. after all its a 24GB memory phone...

Final verdict - Don't think twice go buy it..
