The most reliable phone ever. Review on Nokia N82

I am here to review the Nokia N82. Now most of you will think that this is an outdated phone because it was released on the Indian market a while ago.Well believe me its not.I will list out the features before we get into a detailed review and use of the features it has got.

Nokia N82 is a high-end quad-band GSM camera phone with 5-megapixel resolution, auto-focus, Xenon flash and Carl Zeiss lens. It features WiFi, GPS, micro-SD slot for memory and runs Symbian 9.2 S60 FP1(feature pack 1).

Now for those of you expecting the technical details of the phone... just Google it... Hey and remember for anything Google is your best Friend.

Design :  The design is quite sleek and I like the smooth finish.The button quality is great but the buttons may tend to be a drawback if you are an sms freak... it takes time to get used to the press buttons of the Nokia N82.Besides that the buttons on the side of the phone for the camera operation are good and are response sensitive. That makes picture clicking very smooth and easy.

When you activate the loudspeaker on the N82 be sure that your hand does not cover the speakers on the right side of the phone.(I suggest that you use a screen guard for a longer life of the body panels).

Battery:Now the battery on the N82 is a high performance one.The drawback is that it requires at least 2 and a half hour for a complete charge.So if you are in a rush to the work place in the office and don't have time to charge it completely.... don't be dismayed.... the battery lasts for more than a day with just an half hour of charging.

GPS

Even though it comes with a trial Nokia Maps... its really very accurate.It was a boon for me as I am from the UK and I dont know much of bangalore since I come here only during December holidays.The GPS takes an initial 30 seconds to set to your position.They its good to go.The Nokia Maps don't have much search features compared to the Google maps.But the Google maps is a really bandwidth eater.

Applications

If you get the certificate from the provider, you can install many useful applications.The Nokia N82 also has a bar-code reader.This is really useful fro those in the marketing department.The Nokia N82 also flaunts an Auto Rotate using the accelerometer built in.The motion sensors are very sensitive.I have installed applications by which I can change the profile of the phone just by shaking my phone.

Camera: the camera is one of the best feature of the phone , You will be amazed at the clarity of the camera.For camera type check the technical specifications on Google.The picture quality in night mode is also good but not excellent when compare to the day time.You can get better than good quality in the night using the night mode....

Usage : Till date even after a year my phone has never hanged during a call or any application in use.It has enough space on the system memory.The maximum memory it supports is a 8GB micro-SD and even using the maximum amount of memory the phone has never showed signs of lagging like its older ancestors using the maximum amount of memory specified.At the initial stages you may find the auto rotation of the phone annoying but you will get used to it, also in the older firmwares of the phone the screen rotation was allowed when tilted towards the left side only.But Nokias latest firmware allows screen rotation even on the right side too.... I have installed about 100 + applications and run them all simultaneously in the background but still the phone doesn't show signs of lagging.Check for this video proof on youtube.

Few practical details

Start up time         : 10 seconds flat (until it shows the standby screen)

Shut down time    :   6 seconds (until the light goes off completely)

Also has an inbuilt hardware accelerator for games and efficient memory usage.

The music output quality is good but it could have been better.

Conclusion :Its faster than most of the N series phones and very stable too.Buy its worth every pound you pay.
