NOKIA N 73

3.2 MP CARL-ZIESS LENS CAMERA

STERIO-SURROUND SOUND

SLEEK SIMPLE YET STYLISH

ELEGANT WEB BROWSING

3G+Quadband, symbian s60v3 platform

The N73 boasts a beautiful 2.4-inch QVGA screen that displays 262k hues with a 240 x 320-pixel resolution. That translates to bright colors and sharp text and images. It's also readable in direct sunlight !

Its a rockstar............nah ............. A SUPERSTAR? .....right! ( A bit jaaneman stuff , if u guys hv seen it).

I was using my nokia 6610 for the last three years , and when my friends were busy  purchasing 6600's and 3230's I always thought to myself someday  I will purchase my own camera phone . And here it is my nokia n73 and surely am feeling new!.

Frankly speaking in those three years , not a single phone really impressed me to shell out my father's hard earned money (as I am still graduating!). Also I was entirely satisfied with 6610's performance and stability. I could have been used it for atleast a couple of  years more had I not been warned by my girlfriend ," u change your phone or be ready to change your gf!" (joking dont have one).

As far as its looks are concerned its the best; simple yet stylish. To believe your eyes just open its camera shutter and rest you will see for yourself !.......................special aluminium finish buttons finely placed on right side comprising camera capture key and zoom in-out buttons illuminating in blue. This make you feel every single penny worth. And there is another good feature which I have not seen elsewhere , there is a light sensor just above the screen. This light sensor makes the phone adjust its buttons backlight (like lights will get off in front of normal tubelight or in front of sun....and switch on in the dark and when there is really a need....it helps in saving huge chunk of battery power!).

The numerical keypad and navigation controls sit below the screen. There are two soft keys, Talk and End buttons, and a five-way joystick for scrolling through the menu; pressing the joysticks causes it to act as a select key. Along the perimeter of the number keys are four more controls: Shortcuts to the Menu and Edit function are on the left side, while the Multimedia button and Clear key are on the right side. And this multimedia key is really an innovative concept by nokia.

Just slide the cover, hold phone horizontically with the camera capture key and zoom keys at the top, the N73 looks and feels like a standalone digital camera!.

To store all your multimedia files, there's a miniSD expansion slot on the bottom of the N73. It's protected by an attached cover, which we certainly appreciate, but it's really difficult to remove--having longer nails helps. That said, we're glad Nokia placed the expansion slot on the exterior of the phone rather than beneath the battery like it does with some of its other models.

Coming on to the performance side.....i  heard that phone is slow during changing applications , opening camera etc................LUCKILY MY phone did not show anything such feature...i didn't face any problems like that yet!.On the contrary I found the phone much faster than expected, the best so far though I have not used many phones or pocket pc's.

Coming to this point only..........this phone comes under a smartphone category , which nokia in its own terms likes to call it a complete multimedia device.

HIGH-LIGHTS

Integrated 3.2-megapixel CMOS camera with autofocus and digital zoom up to 20x

Digital music player supports Visual Radio and various audio formats with playlists and equalizer controls

Bundled PIM (Personal Information Management) features including Anti-virus software, Yahoo! Go, and Email client with attachments and mobile VPN support

Nokia PC Suite connectivity with USB, Infrared and Bluetooth wireless technology .

A UNIQUE FEATURE

It's gallery has one very interesting function of slideshow which shows all the pics in zoom in/out mode together with a song of your choice. Its really innovative, just go to see its demo somewhere.

SOUND

Not saying much about its camera capabilities, because there is no need for it.Sound is really the loudest ever heard from nokia phone. It has two very stylishly integrated speakers one on the top and one below which pumps out amazing stereo sound, though the bass is missing but I think nokia is on right track and really catching its competitors (SE,MOTOROLA etc).It also has 3D Effect ringing tone option which is also something not seen elsewhere.

It do have mp3 player and real player and conection via usb to transfer music files and videos from your pc is really fast.Among other things it has visual radio which is also something new to india and airtel is expected to start this service sometime in december though currently it do supports all radio stations and sound of headset is just above average.

COMPARISONS

It is often compaired with sony erricsson k790i , but plzzz.........no comparison here!.......fairly on two aspects that its screen size is small and its video recording is no way near to n73's video recording. Both phone is equal as far as digital front is concerned .I mean still camera capabilitieS of both of them is extraordinary as both have 3.2 mega pixels to make everything clear and much brighter than ever but SE K790I's video recording is not upto the mark......technologically n73 captures more frames per second to capture video brilliantly.

And it supports all the applications in the world available......and even sony ericson is also clear about these facts .May be this is the only reason SE's k790i is 5k cheaper than N73.N73 also scores above in the sound aspect if compaired.

The blue censor light also serves another good function , when screensaver is activated the blue light keeps on blinking(it can blink 48hrs continously if one is not using the phone) , so it really serve the purpose of finding the phone if there is darkness or at the night.Add to this , it also looks cool with blue LED blinking light!

Web browsing is pretty fast in it ,with NOP (net on phone) activated from airtel delhi , surfing is decent but can be improved and will be improved by service provider in near future.Sites I normally access by using my N73 includes google.com,gmail.com,orkut.com,mouthshut.com etc and one can easily access WAP sites also.

BATTERY  IS EXCELLENT , FOR FULLY OCCUPIED USE IT ONLY  NEEDS TO BE CHARGED ONCE IN 2 DAYS

SEE NEW FEEL NEW HEAR NEW - This slogan is really an intelligent very  brief discription of this phone, nokia n73. I salute!
