I have been using this mobile for a month now. I had actually gone to buy SE K750i, but that was not available with the dealer. I was deliberating whether to buy W810i when I saw this piece.

At that time, its sleek black looks seduced me completely. I ended up buying this. There's a pink version of this as well but I guess that is for women. Also, I would recommend that people buying this phone should also buy some sort of cover, crystal in my case, to protect it from scratches & fingerprints. After all, if one can spend 15k for a good looking phone, one can spend Rs 100 for protecting those looks as well!!!!!

Here's what I think about its features:

  • Display: This phone has a nice big and clear display. In this respect, it is certainly better than W810i. One's gaming experience would be a good one.

  • Camera: the 2MP camera is really good. I had used the 6600 camera before and the difference between the pics taken from that and this one is clearly visible. There is an in-built flash also which can come in handy during low light conditions. There is a cover provided to protect the camera but this also attracts a lot of fingerprints.

The cons are mainly two. The first is that the pic is not taken instantly. There is a 1 second delay, so if u move the camera during that time, the pic becomes blurred. U have to take the pic and hold the camera in place for about 2 seconds afterwards if u want a good pic. The second, and very irritating defect is that u can view the taken pic for about 3 seconds before it vanishes. The only way to see it now is to exit the camera and go to the Gallery. By the time u try to show the pic to someone else, it is gone!!!!!!

  • Music: The music player is decent. The loudspeaker is very loud but also noisy. If u want to enjoy ur music, use the provided headphones. The reception with the headphones is of very good quality. The one problem here is that the headphone size is a bit big and it might not fit nicely in all ears!!!!

  • Radio: The reception of FM is very good. But headphones must be connected for FM to start.

Memory: The phone memory is a very good 20MB. There is a 128MB card included but that is too less for me. The good thing about the card though is that it is a RS-MMC card, the cheapest one available. I got a 1GB card for Rs 1100 and now have more than enough memory to listen to all my music.

Battery: The battery life is good. I have to recharge it daily but that is cos I listen to almost 5hrs of music everyday + other calls. Also, the battery takes only 2.5 - 3 hrs to get fully charged.

Calls: Maybe I should I have put this first. After all, this is the main purpose of a mobile. No worries here, though. The network strength is excellent. The reception of sound during calls is also good. The loudspeaker is good enough for relatively quiet places.

Keypad: The keypad is decent. It looks small but one can easily press all the keys. The only problem might be the shortcut keys on the side, on the silver panel. The good thing is that this phone does NOT have a joystick as a joystick is the first thing on the keypad which gets defeced.

Other Pros:

  • This phone has Symbian 8.1 UI 2.8 OS. This means all mobile apps created for Series 60 UI 2 will run on this phone. Also, apps written for UI 3(there r few in no. now but will be available soon) can run o this phone.

  • The bundled items cover everything one might need. There is no need to buy any major accessory, except for maybe bluetooth handsfree. There is even a connector using which this phone can be connected to external speakers!!

  • The charger for this phone is different from that of usual Nokia chargers. But there is a connector provided with the phone which can enable one to charge from normal Nokia chargers as well.

  • The phone is EDGE enabled, so data transfer speeds should be fast. Many operators have started EDGE services in India now so one can avail of those, though i'm not doing it yet.

  • Adobe reader & QuickOffice is provided so that one can read any pdf, doc, excel or ppt. But editing is not allowed.

Other Cons:

  • The one MAIN and BIG turnoff is that THIS IS VERY SLOW. Everything will take its own sweet time to open. But I heard that this can be corrected with a firmware upgrade. Am gonna try this soon.

  • There's no 3g but that should not be a problem as 3g services have yet to catch up in India.

I got this for 15K in Blore. All in all, this phone has all the features. If it would work faster, it would be a steal. But since it is not, I would advise everyone to look at other options before deciding a phone for them.
