Introduction: I bought this mobile only a month after its launch. For 21,800 Rs. and then somebody stole it in a crowdy and rawdy local train. I again bought it for 9800 Rs. only - this time the music edition of it. Again?? Check out why below.
Specifications: Nokia N70 is a symbian OS smartphone (a mobile phone offering computer similar functionality) Symbian OS is a platform which is strategic designing, developing and distribution of softwares. But, these terms means something only when you hold a Nokia N70 in your hand and feel it for yourself.. Good grip, light weighted, wide screen and ideal size. It works on the GSM network and has an internal memory 18-20 MB & a 64 MB external card. Later, it was upgraded to support 1 and 2 GB memory cards as well. Its display is a TFT Screen (Thin film transistor - one of the reasons of its huge cost) with multiple theme selections possible. Themes can be downloaded and installed. It support sound formats as monophonic, polyphonic and mp3 ringtones. The data transfer is possible via bluetooth and USB. Its a twin camera phone. Primary being a 2MP with supported LED flash and a VGA camera to support video call conferencing. Keys functioning is very smooth and it has a 5 way scroll key which is the heart of this mobile. Apart from this there are feautures like Real player, FM Radio, Java supported games, Image editor, Stopwatch, Voice recorder, To-do-reminder, Converter (Units), Pre installed mobile anti-virus and software support to pdf reader, quickword and quicksheet. Battery standby time is around 3 days if you take good care while charging it.
Recommendation: YES then and now NO. I have been using this mobile for so long and there has been no major problem since then. The only problem that lies is with its headset. The wire is of poor quality and it comes with 3 months only replacement warranty. After sales experiences are though horrible but still I consider it a good mobile to be owned.
Moral and Morale: Don't marry your mobile. Sell it and keep upgrading it from time to time . There is no pride in owning a vintage model.
As if someone will buy it: Now, stop looking for it! Nokia stopped its production. If you are looking for second hand option then don't, keypad must be worn out due to overuse. Its resellable price is 1200 Rs. as on today's date! Sell it.
