Just go for it (cost permit)!. Review on Nokia N70

The nokia N70 is the first of the N-Series phones by Nokia. Well since ive used both the N90 and the N70 I must say the N70 wins hands down. This is my second smart phone after the Sony Walkman Phone. Well coming down to the phone it's great to say the least. Looks wise it outclasses the N90 . simply outclasses.

The Phone

The N70 is similar in appearance to the Nokia 6680, with boxy shape and a five-way scroll key, two soft keys, an application key, and a multimedia key. The N70 is slightly thicker than the 6680, but much lighter. The screen is a good size and the two cameras are well located. Overall, it's a good, practical design for a smartphone, and the most traditional-looking of the Nseries phones. The surface does scratch however, so take good care of it. Nokia should have have had used a better alloy!

The Camera

The nokia N70 has a high quality camera with 2 megapixels. This is the first Nokia phone to break the 2 megapixel barrier. The camera has a very powerful 20x digital zoom, an integrated flash and a choice of modes including scenery, portrait, night and sports.It has the world renowed Carl Zeiss lens It's possible to control settings such as brightness, white balance settings and colour tones.

The Memory

The internal memory of the device is 30 MB, with the addition of a 64 MB MMC card which can be swapped. Connectivity is via Bluetooth or USB port. It does not have an infra red but den who needs it with blue tooth !.Supports GPRS Edge and even allows surfing the net at broad band speeds which means that I can even Mouth Shut while on the move!!

Performance

Forget the excellent 2 megapixel camera, high quality of its photos, built-in FM radio, or the new S60 Symbian OS - it is a great phone. Period. Thanks to a top notch RF chip, the sound quality is crisp and clear. The phone came-up trumps in my blind dialing test, every single time. !!

The keypad, seems a little shrunk,make dialing easier. The four-way navigation key is very effective, despite its diminutive size writing short SMS messages is pretty easy, and not tedious. The add on keys however seem a little squished and take some getting used to, despite being in the all familiar spots.

I like the music functionality of this phone. The accompanying headphones completely confused me. They have white I pod like cords, . However they did seem out of place. Nevertheless, I got over that, and explored the audio functions. The enhanced Visual radio is great if you want to catch up on the latest tunes etc. You need to go online (over the air) to register your location. After that you can simply preset your favorite FM radio stations. well since I used data one bsnl bradband I prefer going to the radio stations on my Pc than on nokia N70 but I must say dat the browsing speed is jaw dropping to say the least. Once I can find a 1GB card, I am going to be playing back Ogg files using the OggPlay, my favorite mobile music player. anyways The real one player is pretty good and the phone also supports MP4 playback.

The damn aluminium screen is the blessed con of this one ya! gets scratched prety fast so forget about putting this in your jeans guys but den you ca always use a cover

The phone has two cameras - one in the front and one in the back. The front camera is 0.3 megapixels, but it is for making video calls,

The Bad

The phone surface gets scratched pretty fast.

Takes some time to get used to the buttons

Not got for long messages

The front camera is only .3 mega pixel and not 2.0 mega pixel

Sometimes just sometimes the phone disconnects while conversation but then I got that problem sorted out by NOKIA Care so dont worry!!

Verdict!!

The Nokia N70 is a damn good phone trust me guyz!

its got all the stuff and more!

with the 20x zoom you cant ask for more trust me!

just go for it cost permitting .this one will surely turn some heads!
