I purchased Nokia Lumia 520( yellow color) from Gurgaon at a price of 9, 900.00 INR on 8-July-2013. S.No (IMEI) of phone: 357287051601211
After 1 month there was accidental water spillage on the phone and it didn't start afterwards. I went to Nokia Care, Sahara Mall Gurgaon on 24th-August-2013. They told since water went in the phone is out of warranty & you have to bear the repair cost.
I left phone at the shop and on next day Nokia care Sahara mall called me to tell me that battery connect and power switch are faulty which will cost you 2800 for repair. This is too high cost for small parts of a 10, 000 Rs phone(almost 30%).
When I asked why this high cost and asked for itemized price of parts that I got a reply that Nokia doesn't sells parts separately and in that case separate repair charges for all parts will be 3500 cumulatively. They also told if the service center is unable to repair than it will go to Factory for L2 or L3 which will cost me 4250 INR( approx 42% cost of phone)
I opted for not repairing from Nokia care as phone was anyway out of warranty and tried at local shops in Gurgaon where people said Lumia being new is not well known to them and I must go to service center only.
I again went to same Nokia care Sahara mall Gurgaon service center on 5-Oct-2013 for repair and was ready to pay 2800 that time as I had no choice. To my surprise they told me it will cost me 4500 for repair and in case they are unable to repair the phone will go to Nokia factory and it will cost me 6750.00 INR.
It was a great shock and I was helpless. they were unable to explain why they have changed the price. Service center told me the price is revised now. however in reality the phone now costs only 8500 INR. And even if service center gives me a new phone due to factory repair it will be my old battery, old charger and old earphones which may cost around 2000/- INR if purchased separately. So 6750+ 2000= 8750 which is more than a new phone. Moreover the service center will give only 1 month warranty after repair.
Apart from the faulty parts in my phone, the good condition parts like battery, touch panel, led display, software( only intellectual property which is never lost only needs re-copy) are expansive ones and carry much larger cost within phone cost. This clearly indicates cheating by Nokia Care, service center, Sahara Mall, Gurgaon.
Moreover I went to in laws place in Jaipur. I VISITED A LOCAL MOBILE REPAIR SHOP IN JAIPUR WHO REPAIRED THIS CRAP FOR INR 1500/- only.
NOKIA CARE SUCKS.THEY WANT TO SELL CHEAP CHINESE CRAP AT LOW RATES TO TRAP THE CUSTOMER FIRST THAN CHARGE THE CUSTOMER HEFTY AMOUNT FOR REPAIRS.
STAY AWAY FROM NOKIA.
