I have been using the e90 for seven to eight months now. Their have been no complaints with the phone working. The only issue I have with the phone is the housing/ paneling.

when the phone was five months old the front panel colour started to peal off and it became very rough. it was like its melting, if you rubbed the phone with your fingers or a cloth it felt like glue coming off. I though it might have been from the pouch supplied with the phone, I had the front and battery cover changed which I paid for. Thinking this must have been my fault.

The following month the main housing as well as the cover just above the inside screen started to become rough and disintegrate. What I mean by disintegrate is it looks like someone has put the phone in their mount and chewed on it:-). Now this definitely cannot be my fault.

I have called nokia customer service and they tell me that the cover/ panel and housing is not warrentied and they want  me to go to the service center, I know I will get the same answer from them too. To top it all not only does it look like I have a chewed up phone but the paint keeps chipping off and I can see the white plastice I a few areas. would like to know if anyone else has the same problems,

I have also sent them an email which they have not yet replied too. The sad part is for the last 10 years I have owned many nokia phone, you could say a fan of nokia especially for ther duriability and robust build. I currently have the following nokia phone with no problems n70 and the 6300 they dont even have a scratch on it . Cant help to wonder why so may problems with the e90.

I am left with the following options and if anyone else has any suggestion please send it across.

  1. Change the housing.(Dont know if it will give me the same problems)

  2. Scrap the phone and go in for the i-phone.

3 Or live with the problem.
