Nokia E7!! A big disappointment . Review on Nokia E7

I was literally waiting for four months to buy this handset and was constantly eyeing on the latest update in google and other websites about the launch of Nokia E7 in India. I have researched a lot about this handset before buying the same. All my research went futile after I bought this handset. I bought this handset as soon as it was launched in India and I bought it 45 days ago.

Let me share my awful experience with Nokia E7 and since this is a place where everybody gives their honest opinion and I am not an exception to this rule. Many a times I read the reviews in mouthshut before I bought electronic products. I wanted to write a review after I bought the handset but that would be a biased review and so I am writing this review after using the handset for a while. There is no point going on and on with the cool features of Nokia E7 and so I will just point out the features which you may wish you to look into when you buy the handset.

The touch screen and the qwerty keypad is a good thing in the handset and the touch screen is quite sensitive and does not take a lot of effort to switch on between different applications. The qwerty keypad is an addition to Nokia N8 and the screen display in Nokia E7 is better than any other nokia handset. The camera quality is really good and I cannot say anything against it. But you need to adjust the settings in the camera according to the low light conditions. The video recording is also quite good and the quality of the video never dilutes even if you transfer and view the same in your LCD and Laptop. But I guess that is not the main purpose for which we want to buy a handset. According to me these are the additional features which helps you stand differently in the crowd.

I was quite happy after I bought this handset in the first week of March 2011 and my day of happiness literally seem to come to an end. The battery cannot be removed and this was a problem with Nokia N8 also. I don't understand why Nokia (the number one handset manufacturer in INDIA) manufactures such horrible battery which barely last one day long. You always have to carry your charger whenever you are going outside or otherwise be assured that Nokia E7 will embarrass you in front of people who are using a most ordinary handset of Nokia 1100. The battery quality of an ordinary handset of nokia lasts long than Nokia E7. Such a big mobile stuffed with a hell lot of features but barely you can use all of them with a full charge of the battery. I charged my battery and then listened to music just for half an hour followed by attending couple of calls and sending few mails. The battery low signal was coming on the home screen.

I thought that it may be happening because the battery was not charged till it was showing battery charge is complete. So I once again charged the battery till I got the notification that battery charge is complete. But still the battery did not last for more than 15 hours. It is shame that such an handset needs to be charged on regular basis. I took an ultimate test and redo the entire process once again. I fully charged the battery and then started to browse the internet, taking photographs and making calls. I was flabbergasted when I saw that the battery low signal comes in the home screen just after 8 hours of charging the whole battery.

The main purpose of any handset including a basic handset is to make calls and receive calls. There where our BIG NOKIA E& fails miserably once again. The voice clarity is pathetic in this handset and the line will get disconnected very often. This happens when you are making a STD or ISD calls. Your voice is barely audible to the other party. Firstly I thought that it was network problem and so even shifted from my vodafone number to airtel number but the result is same. The internet browsing is a pleasant experience till the time you are not accessing multiple sites together. But the basic GPRS connection is very slow in this handset and so you need to go for the advanced GPRS. The Symbian software is outdated and Nokia should seriously think of coming with something new (just like android)

After using it for last 45 days, I will definitely say that it had only burnt a hole in my pocket to buy this handset. I spent Rs. 30, 000 to buy this handset. It's not worth the money and I still regret my decision. Now you can even get this handset for a price of 27, 000 at kolkata, delhi chennai. So you can well understand what an outstanding handset nokia has produced so far, which even cannot stick to their original market price for 50 days after being launched in the market. I have this feeling that the value of the handset will come down to Rs. 20, 000 in another three months. Forget about recommending this handset to my friends. Even I won’t recommend it to my enemies
