18 hours of research on features I wanted out of a business phone, while not feeling like being robbed of my money, resulted in an unanimous decision.Nokia E51, a total black E51.
I cannot compare any other business cell phones with E51, out of simple reason, because this is my first business cell phone. However, I can assure that no other cell phone can give you power packed features like E51.
Let me start with features I liked the most in my past 3 weeks of usage. Internet over WLAN works superb. If you have Wi-Fi, you can browse at amazing speed, and with capability of rotating the screen to provide a wider view and text zooming, net surfing is not a problem at all.
Switching between applications is amazing. With the dimensions of Nokia E51, I was bit skeptical about performace of the OS, but I am reassured that no other cell phone gives you faster navigation than this. This added to the fact that operating system has never hanged once.
Email clients! Name one client which it does not support, unless you are really using some Martian technology to retrieve your emails.
It supports VOIP over WLAN, which is again a good bargain at the price I paid for the cell phone.
Speaker phone works awesome, with crystal clear voice and no cracking of voices.
Coming to some other features which makes E51 cooler.Visual FM Radio with crystal clear sound over the headsets. However, I don't understand why can't we play radio on speaker phone, as the speaker phone doesn't sound bad at all. MP3 player is very good, and this is why I say speaker phones are not bad at all, because without headphones as well, I enjoyed the music. Giving some preset equalizer adds to the quality.
Other feature which is more kind of show off than necessary is Voice Activated Controls. While everything you do will be said out loud and clear with this functionality, you can also set calling names on, which will say the name of the caller(the only good I can think about this feature is, it helps while driving to know who is trying to reach you).
A 2.0 MP camera adds as icing to all the mentioned features(and some which if I start mentioning will entice Nokia guys to hire me as their sales person:D). Only cons here is a missing flash light, becasue of which you can take good photographs only in well lit environment.
Another feature is battery support. With average use of cell phone to surf and talk, of around 4 horus a day, I had to recharge my E51 every 2-2.5 days. I guess this is good enough.
Concluding my experience, I am still unable to believe that Nokia E51 is so powerful yet so slim and catchy. The buttons are smooth and distinct which makes messaging easy and at desired speed. Some reviews on this phone stated that the navigation buttons are thin and difficult to press, I differ in that view. For me, it adds to the looks of the phone while the smoothness of buttons makes is very easy to press without any difficulty unless you are suffering from arthiritis on fingers(with no offense to people who actually suffer from the dreadful pain). You also get a leather pouch in the box which goes very well with the looks of the phone.
Only delta(can't say it negative) I found about this phone is some finger smudges on back cover of the phone.
Slim, Smart, Sexy.business phones cannot get better than this!
