I have been using Nokia 7710 for the last 3 months. I would rate it better than average.

Going for a product like Nokia 7710 -- one would always think whether one should go for a mobile phone which is a PDA as well (like Nokia) or should one go for a PDa which is a phone as well (like HP Treo, O2). I end up using phone more than the pda functionality and I really like the Nokia interface(got used to it) and hence chose Nokia over the rest. It is also a good 10000 Rs cheaper than the other pda phones.

It runs on Symbian Operating System -- which based on my earlier usage of Microsoft's Pocket PC system was equally good if not better. Symbian OS (like Pocket PC) requires maintenance though I would suspect not as frequently as Pocket PC. Once in a week it is important to switch off the phone, remove the battery and switch it on back again. This ensures that your Nokia phone doesn't hang. It occasionally hangs.

Slightly bulky -- fits well though in shirt pocket. You get used to it.

The answer / reject button on the side of the phone - -don't work all that well. Sometimes you have to press really hard / some times a soft press works and at times you would be forced to take out the stylus to answer the call.

It comes with a standard black cover -- offers good protection. The only challenge is that without opening the cover flap you would not know who is calling you -- though you can answer / reject the call through the buttons on the side.

Internet access through the phone is as expected on a mobile. I would think this depends a lot on service provider though.

The stylus has started to come loose in about 3 months of usage. This could be a problem.

Reception / voice clarity is okay.

It doesn't have Infra red -- though it has blue tooth and USB cable connectivity to PC. I would have preferred for it to have IR as well.

The camera works quite ok when there is adequate light. In slightly darker settings the images are quite grainy.

The FM reception is outstanding. Its inbuilt MP3 player along with the headset are of a high quality. Good stuff from a very small machine.
