Think mega. Review on Nokia 7610

Although I own a Nokia 6610i mobile phone, but still as some of my friends own a Nokia 7610 mobile phone, still I am doing a review about the Nokia 7610.

The Nokia 7610 happens to be a Nokia series 60 mobile phone and it comes with Bluetooth enabling for some wireless data transfer between 2 Bluetooth enabled mobile phones. The Bluetooth technology, is stronger than Infrared as in using Bluetooth, there is no need to stick the mobile phones together and the phones can be very easily be kept in a distance. However, the Bluetooth technology has its disadvatages as the files can be transferred easily and some people use it to transfer viruses to others mobile phones as well.

Looks -

Lookswise the Nokia 7610 is cool. It is also curved at 2 of its corners and does not give the feeling of a bulky phone as it is very lightweight.

Usage -

Being a Nokia mobile phone, the Nokia 7610 is also easy to use mobile phone and the 5-way navigation key makes it easier. The menu of the Nokia 7610, is different from the lower range mobile phones.

Display -

The Nokia 7610 mobile phone, provides a 65536(64k) color display with a TFT screen. The difference between a TFT screen and a normal color screen is that when sunlight falls on the phone, the screen becomes very unclear on normal color screen phones, however in a TFT screen phone, the screen still remains clearly visible. The Nokia 7610, has a larger screen resolution of 176x208 pixels and when taking the photos, the larger screen comes in helpful.

Connectivity -

The Nokia 7610, provides a connectivity option in the form of Bluetooth enabling for some wireless data transfer. However the Bluetooth technology, also has its own disadvantages as well as viruses can be transferred easily using Bluetooth. The Nokia 7610, also provides a Data Cable(DKU-2/CA-53) with the phone itself and there is no need to buy it as a separate enhancement. Also, being a colour phone, the Nokia 7610, also provides GPRS(General Packet Radio Service) connectivity for wireless internet. The GPRS services, depend on the network service provider. The Nokia 7610, also has EDGE(EGPRS) techonology as well.

Camera & Video Recording -

The Nokia 7610, has a 1 megapixel camera with a 4x digital zoom. The picture quality of the Nokia 7610 is quite good as compared to some other phones in its range. Also, the Nokia 7610, offers a 10 minute video recording as well.

Entertainment -

Although the Nokia 7610 does not have a Radio, but still the Real player can be installed in the Nokia 7610 and it can be used for hearing MP3/RM music. The Headphones of the Nokia 7610 has only 1 earplug and the headphones with 2 earplug are not supported by the Nokia 7610 as the music will come only in 1 of the earplugs. Also, the videos of 3GP format can be run on the Real player.

Memory -

The Nokia 7610, provides a 8 MB internal memory and a 64 MB memory card comes free with it. The Nokia 7610, also supports expandable memory with the installation of memory cards with higher capacity. Using memory cards, also has some of its disadvantages as well as sometimes the memory cards could get hang as well when using memory cards of a larger denomiation. When the mobile gets hang, there is a some chance that all data might be lost from the mobile phone. To restore the mobile, a memory card reader is required.

Overall, the Nokia 7610 is a good phone for those who are looking for a Mobile Phone with a digital Camera and Bluetooth in the range of Rs.10000-12000.
