Hi Everyone,
I was using a Nokia 3230 and yes, I was very dissapointed with its performance. I went to the dealer about 2 days back and tried to exchange the 3230 for a 6600. This dealer, being a good friend of mine, suggested that I have alook at the 6681 model. I did have a look and it was love at first sight. I am a techno person. I want my phone to be fast, reliable and tech savvy. I dont mind the bulk of a 9500, in fact the bulk appeals to me!
After checking out the 6681 model, I decided to go for it and have been on the 7th sky ever since. The phone looks amazing and performs even better! Here are the specs:
Basic Features:
Calling volume and all the facilities of call hold, etc are standard and need no special comment.
Camera:
1.3 megapixel cam is damn good for short bouts of click happy fingers. And anyways, you can buy a Powershot if you want world class pictures. Still, I snapped a few pics and found out that the image quality is much better than 3230 or 6600 and at par with 6670. Movie qualiy is a bit jerky but the overall picture phone theme is well justified.
Connectivity:
Dont know if its the excitement of buying a new phone but the Bluetooth transfer speed is
BLITZCREIG!!
The bundled data cable is God Sent and comes in very very handy for pics tranffer and loading
data to your phone
I tried connecting the phone to my laptop and used a software for controlling presentations
through the phone and it worked seamlessly.
Sound Quality:
Simplay AWESOME!! The speaker is loud and clear. You might not like the sound of songs from the speaker but wait till you plug in the headphones! Sincerely, I stopped carrying my iPod anymore!!
bundled Software:
The Bundled Software that nokia gives is good. Adobe Reader and Quick Office are too good to carry your office documents.
Memory Card:
The dual voltage MMC is a bit small if you wanna carry your office. However, how much does 1000 bucks hurt someone who can afford a 12.8K phone!
And I am ready to challenge anyone who says that the phone becomes slow if you read office documents on it....no it doesnt. In fact it was great to find out that the phone supports MS Office and OpenOffice documents just like 9500!!
The only thing about my 3230 that I am going to miss is the radio but hey! I can buy a pocket radio for 100 bucks and the iPod like playlisting of songs and the sound quality that 6681 has just makes you forget that Radio Mirchi :)
Overall, the silver color model I bought is simply SEXY on the looks front and the performace is just too good to be true. I am still trying to adjust my senses to the new look and feel!
Its my strongest recommendation that if you wanna spend 10 to 13 K for a phone and if you have a nack for technology...give this phone a glance....and when you do let me know what your reaction was :)
