I bought the Nokia 6630 several months ago and that too because I got thrown into a swimming pool with my earlier Nokia 3120. The Nokia 3120 had been serving me loyaly for the past two years and the only thing I felt that it was failing me on was memory space.
I was a very basic mobile phone user till then. Used it for what it was - making and receiving calls and sending sms's. Ofcourse after the pool incident and some IC getting blown, I had to look for an alternative.
A visit to the nearest Nokia showroom presented a new kind of challenge. In the two years Nokia had launched a slew of phones and I was faced with the delima of choosing a phone which would be practical yet technologically advanced. This was keeping in mind the fact that it seemed like every week there was a new phone being launched.
I was pretty sure I wasn't going to buy a phone that cost me more than Rs. 10,000/-, but when the Nokia 6630 was shown to me, I quite liked it's odd shape which made it easy to handle in my palm. The buttons are just the right sie and the navigation button in the middle just simplified life as I was used to it, rather than a joy stick thingy.
ofcourse the free 64 MB memory card with it was an added bonus. The phone was going to store my thousands of numbers and sms's and that was all I was concerned about. The Camera and all else was just something I'd have to accept with it.
But of late my camera has been giving me splendid service and am so glad that I bought this phone. Evidence of the camera's picture quality is available on my blog: https://turquoisechill.blogspot.com. I've even uploaded a pic as eveidence of the picture quality.
Even playback and recording on this phone is very clear. Add to that the hands free and canversation is crystal clear.
I even get to hook it up to my computer and update my address book which is synchronised with my Microsoft Outlook.
I'd say for the price this phone is a great buy.
