Thumbs up!!!! for 6600-. Review on Nokia 6600

This review is bit long read it with patience ..This review will help u in avoiding some rip off's made by some mobile accesories dealer's

Hi Msians..My Father bought this phone for me from Sharjah ( U.A.E ) . I donot by camera mobiles or smart imaging phones in India becaz they are expensive Here , Especially in small town Andra Pradesh they are too damm expensive ( HUGE RIPOFF'S ) ..The price of Nokia 6600 in Sharjah is Dhs 1050 almost Rs 11,000-\ but my local dealer in Vijayawada sells it for Rs 15,250 with a 16 Mb memory chip (MMC CARD)...The standard chip with 6600 is 32Mb ( Provided as standard my the company)..

Althought this not the latest mobile of nokia..This mobile has 80% of all the feautures available in the latest nokia mobiles like 6630..Let me make a point here..How many of u people actually use FUNCTIONS LIKE USING UR PHONE AS A MODEM OR SYNC- REMOTE synchronisation. I donot even know the meaning of these stuff.

Althought my mobile has these functions...some people say my mobile has HIGH speed internet browsing capability...When they say '''''CAPABILITY'''', they really mean capability. It has capability but no connection [ Service not provided by network provider}.

The best mobile browsing speed available in big cities is 46 kbps...Regular desktop has 56kpbs..so even if u buy a top end nokia mobile and the network provider doesnot provide services like browsing the net. 30% OF THE mobiles functions go useless, the very reason u bought the mobile & the cause of its 5 figure price are not justified...it is like a beautiful girl sans an eye

So think before u buy a top end mobile..First enqiure whether ur service provider offers services like net browsing

My experience with the mobile:

This is one of the first Nokia mobiles with 65 K colours ..so the screen is very bright & the camera is very clear..The photos & videos taken are of top quality..but if u change the memory or MMc into 256 mb the video quality is very poor.. Many people buy MMc cards for Rs 1000 and above to increase the recording time but it is not worth it. Buy a powerful MMc card only if u want functions like MP3 ...or storying and playing video files & songs...

Key pad

i like the style of the keypad but the call key & end key which are present at the far end towards the screen are a bit uncomfortable to use ..The scroll key [ I THINK THE FIRST NOKIA MOBILE TO HAVE A SCROLLER].is very good u can access all the menus by utilising this button even the contacts.

Operating this mobile is a breeze..some functions like ''''SELF TIMER'' for the camera is a excellent function..Just like a traditional camera .The bluetooth & infrared functions in this mobile work well ..They are very user friendly.

image quality is three levels ''HIGH'', NORMAL, BASIC But I really cant makeout a difference between them.

Games in this mobile are UN--exiting & boring ( SNAKE,, MIXPIX ) U CAN INSTALL new games .I installed Snowboarder, Beach racer....if u have a 256 mb MMc card u can install excellent games , Graphics par to N-gage ..

THEMES:-

This is another excellent function worth mentioning ..u can select a theme or download it from a computer or any other source ..Many shops which deal with mobile accesories have computers which can install New themes, MP3 Songs, Video clips, Ring tones , E.T.C into ur mobiles MMC card..but u ness a bigger memory for storing Video clips,

i have a Ferrari theme , with wall paper & back ground image that of ferrari 350.....Even the ring tone is grunt of the ferrari '' VROOOOOOOOOM''

SOUND QUALITY & SIGNAL RECEPTION

The sound & signal reception is upto the nokia mark and have no flaws ..The loud speaker is very clear ...

RING TONES :- When u are in a busy traffic on ur bike ..with the mobile in ur jeans. u wont be able to hear the ring tone ...so always on ur vibrator..but sometimes vibrator also doesnt alert my un-sensitive body..Many people with nokia imaging phones complaint that the ring tone sound is not loud even if u set it in maximum level..Yes it is true , I also agree with them, I cant understand why nokia who come up with many technical Gizmos cant solve this problem

I prefer a nokia 3310 with its loud monophonic ring tone over this mobile's ring sound (they seem to be like whsipers)

I have installed programs like Ultra Mp3 for entertainement purpose..I use my mobile more like a walkman and less like a cell phone...After installing 256mb card u can store upto 100 mp3 songs ...if u buy ear pieces u can use it just like a walkman

So suggest everyone to buy a powerful MMc card for enchancing this mobile's perfomance and utility...

Tips on buying MMc card

1- Some manufacturer's of MMc card stick a false capacity number...Ex;- Many 256 ,b cards are actually 237 Mb ...some shop keepers put 256 Mb sticker on an 128 Mb card and sell..so after installing it in ur mobile ..Go to extras and check with the memory card option for free storage space...

2- some mobile shop dealer's sell MMc cards from old or damaged mobiles make sure it is orginal & brand new one

try to avoid the brand ''''MICROSIM'''..they offer lower capacity than they state on the sticker
