It is good. Review on Nokia 6500S

It's been long I have been using Nokia 2300 for a long time and then I decided to buy a new mobile and started looking on different brands available in the market. I always have a liking for Nokia mobile for their robustness and good battery back-up. Also most of them are very user-friendly.

I also have seen some Sony-Ericsson mobiles, but apart from the looks I did not like much of it.Anyway I made up my mind to buy one good model that suits my needs:

1. Phone to talk (basic feature, now-a-days this is what is being told last in the features .... just kidding).

   
   




2. Camera a minimum of 3.2 mega pixel (would be happy with Carl Zeiss lens)

   
   




3. Music player to listen to my favourite songs

   
   




4. FM Radio

   
   




5. Battery back-up

   
   




6. External memory support

   
   

Just at the same time, Nokia XPress music edition (two varieties) has come up with lot of publicity. I have read the reviews on the these new models, apart from sound nothing much is good. I got to see that it hangs up more often, restarts suddenly and camera lens are not carl-zeiss lens.

When I was looking through other models available I had a glance at Nokia 6500 Slide and liked it.

I checked the reviews and found it suitable. Finally I bought and have been using it for the last six months. The pros and cons are as follows

Pros:

1. Voice quality is very good.

   
   




2. The quality of the sound from music player is good. You do not need software to copy the songs and albums (although one software is provided with the CD). Simply copy and paste the files into the memory chip.

   
   




3. Good battery back-up.

   
   




4. Good internal memory to store many contacts.

   
   




5. Among organising applications: I found Calendar, Calculator, Converter are very useful. Others am not using much.. so I do not have much to say. The reminders in the calendar and its ease of use is good.

   
   




6. It supports up till 4 GB of micro SD memory chip quite enough to store music and video files.

   
   




7. Photos are coming just so good (though you have to check the dust piles upon the lens before taking the shot). I did not try taking videos so I have nothing to say on that front.

   
   




8. Good battery back-up. I charge it for one-and-half hour and it gives full 3 hrs talk time or a full 8-10 hrs to use music player at a moderate volume. The mix and match is running good for me. I charge it sometimes daily or once in two days because I use for both music and talking more often.

   
   




9. Screen resolution is just too good. The beach huts theme (if you know or if you have seen in any other nokia mobile).... is just so good in clarity and colour in this mobile. I love that theme, anyway, for its colour composition.

   
   




10. Supports different themes.

    
    




11. FM Radio can store upto 20 radio channels.

    
    

Cons:

1. The software provided (Nokia says that it is S40) is sometimes make you lose your temper. It suddenly restarts or the call goes hung in the middle. But it seldom happens.

Overall, it is a good mobile phone with some packed features.
