Two bad experiences:
once in bangalore:
on my 3 months old 3315, given for repair as it fell by mistake in water
they serviced it by charging Rs.667/-
but by mistake forgot to check for signal availability while collecting it...
nokia care near lifestyle circle when you come from MG Road
spoke to them, in vain,
wrote chain emails, letter, to HCL nokia distributor, bright point another one in india...
facts about nokia:
they never have own or direct sales/service centers, only manufacturing and then, in india
it is only HCL and bright point...
oh! babre! they both fight with nokia care priority shops every half km in all main roads...
you will never get a spare, or right replies, cheat you while servicing...
when asked for the old part (when they have replaced new!) the answer is : sorry, we don't give
old parts back!! typical platform automobile mechanic tactics...
I have all the copies of the communication, came on transfer urgently to chennai
still having it......my Rs.667/- is gone, my mobile is still with that nokia priority care shop in bangalore...all your hard earned money....gets to go for heaven or hell account with such top brands...

one more experience of my Nokia 1600 in chennai facing it now
my nokia 1600 5 months used, suddenly one fine morning,' insert sim'
problem inspite sim being inside
- gave it thru' a known dealer for under warranty replacement!
fortnight since given, now they say sim reader ic to be replaced, it will cost 650/-
now the handset costs only 2800/- for exchange only Rs.1000/-
they say, water has gone in, so will not give warranty....if they have decided not to give warranty...they can do anything...to put the customer to task....
ha..ha...only we can laugh....any amount of your shouting with service dealers, you will never land
anywhere...
- with this experience, now decided not to use cell phones (which I can do) me being a consultant to many corporate and banks (as I don't really need to be on mobile! its painful at times!
so, now carrying my walky land line.........
what is there in a big brand...if you don't get service...
its as good as we buy a platform stuff (meaning: some decent brand...where in after sales is good!)
buy cellphone at a min. cost without much features say at 2000-3000 bugs max, exchange it
every one year.... spending expensive budgets on cell phone and not getting proper service..... is not a prudent/wise decision it looks...
no value for customer money, respect,,, human values today...with most of the big brands I have dealt with as a consumer....
an orgnanization can grow upto its level its people can take it!
if people are bad, representing orgn, brand image they carry will ALSO BE BAD!....

but sincerely, there are much better equivalent models you get from Ericsson, Samsung...

Now, with all this bad experience, I am launching a Nokia oem from china...a range of handsets in
tamil nadu, in the process of finalising distributors and c and f...
6000/- good model, with 2 mega pixel cameral, video ringtones, mp4 player, 64 mb memory, etc... which is priced with others in the market at 16000...range....
if you can wait for another fortnight, I can give you dealer reference from where you can buy the same...its backed by a 20 year old electronics company (iso 9001 co.) in chennai...
