I used to have a Samsung R220, bought just last year for 5500 bucks. My 1 year old daughter dropped it into water, I took it to the Samsung service center, spent 1500 bucks there, got it working. But after a week or two, it started creating problems, switching off intermittently, getting no signals etc. So I decided to go for a new phone.
I was very clear about what I wanted from my new phone - color screen, but certainly no camera. I find a camera on phone very tacky. It should be small enuff to carry in my shirt pocket, and must not look plasticky. And must be a Nokia - my last Samsung gave me enuff troubles to drive me away from all phones but Nokias. So I went to the Lajpat Nagar HCL Care center, had a look at all Noika phones, and loved 6100 at the first sight, 6610 too is a good phone, and is 1000 bucks cheaper too, and had a FM radio built-in. But it is too big compared to 6100, and doesn't look half as slick.
So I bought it, it was 15 days ago, and I must say I am mightily satisfied with this phone. For one, it is still not very common. I am yet to come across another 6100 owner, is very small and light, and look a million bucks. Sound reception is OK, much more clear than my R220. Infrared connectivity works like a charm. I have uploaded a few photos to my phone, and made wall-papers outta them, and boy, does it look cool.
The PC suite which comes with this phone gives a user immense flexibilty. It's wallet feature is another good one. I can save my confidential information without the fear of my wife reading it. On the whole a great looker, and works okay too.
