After reading all the negative feedback on this site I had made up my mind not to buy this phone. But after a friend recommended I reconsidered and bought the phone and I don't regret it a bit. Three months navigation comes free with the device, I downloaded the latest India maps and enabled the navigation license which is very simple as long as you have WIFI or GPRS connection.
Device crashed once when using Nokia Maps and had to hard-boot.
Features:
UI \ OS :- Takes time getting used to, after years of mobiles with physical buttons. Once you get familiar, using the device is a breeze. Only 4 application shortcuts are possible in home page which is very inadequate. Some UI incontinences like menus require single click and some double click (double click is required as the item can be selected and options of the item can be changed). Some bugs yet to be fixed.
Camera :- Good pictures in good lighting conditions but in inadequate lighting, even with the dual flash produce grainy pictures.
GPS.:- Good sensitivity, with A-GPS enabled (GPRS required) , locks on to sats. in under a minute!
Navigation from Nokia Maps is average, was able to guide me on most of the major roads in Bangalore, but some of the newer areas and roads are not available.
Internet :- The built in browser is excellent and was able to display all the sites I browsed, even with heavy flash content came out as in a PC! Until 3G comes however it is too slow over normal GPRS, I use Opera Mini when on GPRS.
Messaging:- Very easy to type out messages with the full screen keyboard. Add-ons like Mail for exchange works very well. Found 3rd party apps like Fring for IM chats and VOIP (WIFI) good.
Music:- Good sound, only wish the music application was faster and more user friendly.
Battery Life:- Very good considering the huge screen. With heavy usage lasts 2 days (1.5 hrs calls, 20+ messages, 2 hrs GPS, 1 hr browsing on GPRS, 1 hr browsing on WIFI, some music), Lasted nearly 4 days with only phone calls.
