I waited 2 months to write this review to make this a comprehensive one. I had bought it on the new year's eve as a gift for myself :). I am writing this just before vistiing the Nokia service centre. I wanted to change my SE 710i which had been with me and working flawlessly for the past 4+ years just for the sake of changing phone. I was very keen in buying a HTC android based phone and with that intention visited the UniverCell near my home.

I found the Android based HTC too expensive and started looking at other alternatives like Samsung LG. But no phone would come with the features I wanted like wi-fi 3G for an reasonable price. The UniverCell guy then pointed me to the Nokia phone (which I never wanted to buy as I was aware of its many software issues) the first look dint impress me though with the plasticy look. But he told me that it comes with all the features and that to at a price of Rs. 12900 with 6 interest free EMI option. I jumped for it only for the price advantage. Well then started my journey with my first Nokia.

The third day itself the phone showed me a glimpse of the notorious Nokia software. It simply restarted in between some operations. I just ignored it as it dint cause any issues. Then on my woes started. Let me list it out in points as there are many.

  1. The first one was as I said, unexpected restarts. Unexpected closure of apps for no reason.

  2. One of the time when the usual restart happened the phone would not start and it would stop at the NOKIA icon display. I was worried and thought of taking it to the service centre. But before that I thought of googling for it. Voila! I found thousands of users facing the same problem. The fix was to remove the memory card and then restart. I have been doing this several times then whenever the phone restarts.

  3. If automatic restarts was a pain there is another issue where the phone simply hangs. Everything stops working. There is no reset option as well. Only way out is removing the battery.

  4. One fine day I thought of sending bulk messages to my friends just to keep in touch. 15 messages in outbox. One by one messages were sent except one. It stayed in my outbox. This message could not be resent nor deleted from outbox. This happened a couple of times and now there are 3 messages in my outbox which cannot be sent nor deleted. I googled for the same and found, no surprise, this was another common issue which had no fix.

  5. Well the issue faced by me now. Received some sms from my friend yesterday. Tried to open it, it wouldn't open. Then tried to read my mails that too wouldn't open. None of the messages or mails could be opened now. Again googled. Yes, common issue. No fix. Planning to take my phone to the Nokia service centre now. will update about the status when back.

Now, would I recommend this phone to anyone. NO.
