It's been 3 months with this mobile. The most likeable thing is the fast internet with 2G airtel and the most dislike-able thing I find is the visibility in sunlight (very poor!). Still could not locate a free viewer/editor for msoffice files. no hang/restart problems yet. battery life easily 1full day, more if you don't access GPS and net. accident proof - dropped the mobile badly 3-4 times but no damage ! somehow, I am not able to record videos correctly. even if I record a 1 minute clip, still the video runs for 15 secs and then still. I tried this many times on different occasions. maybe I should try a s/w update.

2) battery life : typical nokia 1.5 days of normal use, 1 day with extensive GPS and internet use.
3) speaker volume and loudspeaker volume both are low compared to 5130, but normal otherwise.
with the ringtone in full volume, and the phone in your pant pocket, you will miss the call in a peak hour Mumbai local, but you can hear it easily otherwise.
INITIAL REVIEW :
I bought 5230 on oct 30. been about 10 days of use and I am loving it. I had 5130 express music prior to this, so my comparison is based around that. its my first touchscreen phone, so all the more excited!
PROS :
1) excellent image clarity (for a 2MP camera)
2) smooth video playback (unlike audio video lag which was common with 5130)
3) handwriting recognition (excellent tool for people who sms frequently)
4) decent internet speed on 2G gprs.
5) excellent feature of proximity sensor (screen on when away and off when close to the ears)
6) keys for camera and screen lock, very useful.
7) apparently its quite rugged too...i dropped it accidentally from a height of 4 feet ; it fell on the floor on the 'key lock', but still no visible issue)
CONS :
1) screen not visible in bright sunlight (really have to strain ur eyes...even a bright theme wont do)
2) with the screen guard which comes on the phone, it looks scratched and bruised even if its just 2 days old.... (i bet no one would like to use it sans the screen guard!)
3) pre loaded music player software is dumb. music quality is okay. but 5130 expressmusic is or rather was a better phone for music.
4) finding a suitable 'cover' for the phone could be troublesome. (i looked at many options and finally decided to have none for my piece)
5) unlike 5130, there is no ' mark' option for multiple items. viz. if in the message inbox, you mark one message, then with 5130, you could go on marking all other messages too, but here, you can either mark all or mark one by one..
6) no in built reader/editer for MS office/pdf files, believe me you will waste hours searching for the free stuff.
but then you cant ask everything for 7.5k!
SUMMARY - a great phone for the budget... and if you shell out some more money for the licensed MS office stuff, then an excellent entertainment cum business fone.
RECOMMENDATION - buy...you wont regret it, iam positive.
